For 2 weeks we had communications with Amanda Harrington, who sells yorkies. She was recommended by Walter in Metter Georgia who also breeds yorkies. Walter stated in an email to me that she was honest and sincere. I know Amanda buys yorkies from Walter, so he stated in his email.
We gave a $300 non refundable deposit except if dog was sick or injured. She had taken dog to vet and told us he was fine. She pushed us to name the dog. Sent us tons of photos. We booked a hotel and were driving down to pickup the dog from New York. We had agreed on a date and she sent us a contract which we signed and sent back.
The next day she returned the $300 with no explanation. We tried to contact her but she would not answer our callls or emails. Needless to say we were heartbroken. Now the kicker. We had just lost our 9 year old yorkie to a collapsed trachea. She knew all this and still did this to us. Now it was like we lost two dogs in two weeks.
Where is my dog? I have no idea. She has really cute yorkies so it will be easy to get sucked into her talk. Amanda is dishonest and her business practices are unethical. Stay away from Amanda Harrington Yorkies. Look at what she did to me.

I am also surprised to see a negative report on Harrington Yorkies. We purchased our little Mia from Amanda about 5 months ago. Amanda was beyond excellent to deal with. A true professional. Mia has been a true joy. Extremely playful and healthy. My wife was concerned about her eventual size and has grown to exactly what Amanda projected to us. We would not hesitate to purchase another puppy from Harrington Yorkies.

I would like to comment on Harrington Yorkies. In May 2011 my husband and I chose our youngest family member “Basil” from Amanda Harrington’s yorkies and were completely satisfied with the entire transaction. She was never anything but professional and totally honest; she also seemed to care very much about the welfare of the puppies and whether or not they were going to a good home. I am not exactly sure why she chose to return this gentleman’s deposit but I am sure it must have been for good reason.
I would like to add that I do not know the Harrington’s and have not seen or spoken to them since we brought our “Basil” home over 2 years ago. Frankly, I was very surprised to read what this man wrote and felt I must respond. Also, for anyone considering a Harrington Yorkie I must say our little guy has turned out to be the sweetest natured and most loving yorkie we have ever seen. I for one am thankful for reputable breeders like Amanda and highly recommend her yorkies.
