Ambitious Media (TALENTCALL) Rips Off Background Actors - Promises Low Pay, Gives NO Pay, SCAM Los Angeles California

The title says it all so I'll keep this short and sweet.

I'm a background actor who responded to Craigslist ad seeking background talent for a theater audience for a "talent show" commercial for TalentCALL, produced by Ambitious Media.

I arrived at the El Portal Theater in North Hollywood around 1 PM. As background actors, we were to pretend applause and interest in four staged acts to create a commercial for TalentCall's services. Despite the low pay, we were kept on set until around 7:00 PM (note - this is well below the usual rate for non-union background which is 64/8).

While we were on set, someone edited the Craigslist ad to remove the promise of $25 cash at wrap. When we wrapped, we were told that we would be sent a check in the mail and given a phone number of "Stacey" to contact for updates on pay. When those of us who remembered the ad checked it again, we found the promise of cash at wrap removed entirely from the post. When I called the number for "Stacey" back the next day, the voicemail box was full and not recieving calls.

It has been more than a week since I (and four other background actors who also filmed there that I met at a shoot that thankfully DID pay us well this week) have filmed this, and not one of us has been paid. Ambitious Media has also removed the address of their Los Angeles office from their page, and they have ignored tweets sent to their twitter to request payment be picked up at the office.

DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE IF YOU ARE BACKGROUND. They will overwork you for below minimum wage (not to mention below standard 64/8) and then they won't even pay the paltry wage they offered you or even apologize and compensate you for gas/metro/however you got there.
