In April 2006, we attended a sales meeting at Ameri-World. We were told we could get 5 star resorts at a fraction of the price by joining this and do better than we could with RCI and II. (We already own timeshares that are good.) They asked us for our dream trip and I said Australia, and they said they will get us there. We bought a week and were given 2 certificates for free 2 night travel by Millenium and VIP Vacation. We were told 95% of people get their first travel choice.

The first thing we found out is that you have to request 3 different places and times. I do not consider this my first travel choice if I am locked into a school vacation week. Next I found out they may not confirm you until 30 days ahead. If you want to buy airfare, this means you cannot shop the sales. When I looked at the website, instead of something similar to the selections in RCI which they made it sound like we were getting, there were very limited resorts. For example, none in Key West, Miami, or Ft Lauderdale, which have dozens of resorts. And nothing in Australia or Asia, or South America. I checked Tripadvisor for reviews of resorts I was considering using, and every one I checked was old, run down, and in need of updating, or in the process of updating.

Basically, you are paying a lot of money to buy weeks at places that cannot otherwise be rented. For the dining discounts, it is with a service that anyone can sign up for on the internet for free. For the hotel discounts, I found cheaper prices on the hotels own websites. In short, you get nothing. As for the free travel certificates, after months of going back and forth with requests, the companies are no longer even contacting me, and they do not provide a phone number to reach them. So the certificates are useless as well. They claim to be on BBB but I looked them up on the CT BBB website and did not find them.
