TRYING TO GET AOL OFF YOUR COMPUTER
AUTHOR: Amy - (U.S.A.)

AOL PUTS SOFTWARE ON YOUR COMPUTER YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE OF. I FOUND THAT OUT THE HARDWAY. MY COMPUTER STARTED ACTING UP WHICH IS WHY I DID INVESTIGATING. YOU HAVE TO GO DEEP INSIDE YOUR COMPUTER'S HARD DRIVE, DEEP INTO THE REGISTRY AND MANUALLY DELETE ANYTHING WHICH SAYS AOL. (THIS IS BEFORE I HAD DSL). CONTINUALLY CHECK YOUR COMPUTER. BUT IF YOU CALL AOL CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU WON'T GET ANYWHERE. TRUST ME I TRIED TO GET ANSWERS AND THEY ACTED DUMB.
AOL=BAD INTERNET SERVICE=POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE=
DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING.

AOL SNEAKY LITTLE SOFTWARE PEOPLE....

NOT ONLY DID AOL PLACE ANTI-SPY SOFTWARE ON MY COMPUTER WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE THERE SOFTWARE I HAD TO DO A COMPLETE SYSTEM RE-INSTALL TO GET THE SOFTWARE COMPLETELY OFF MY COMPUTER!
AOL HIDES A FOLDER DEEP INSIDE YOUR COMPUTERS REGISTRY. MAKE SURE YOU GO INTO YOUR SYSTEMS HARD DRIVE AND DON'T BE SUPRISED IF YOU FIND AOL'S HIDDEN FOLDERS.

A.O.L. GIVES NOTHING FREE
AUTHOR: Geraldine - (U.S.A.)

A.O.L. is deceptive to say the least.I am in contact with suthories over this attack.they do not even deny trying to infect my p.c.with a trojan horse.Va. office says,I don't know why we would attsck you.there so called spyzapper is fake. Mcafee products miss things that are picked up by other antivirus software.
They did not "ping" they attacked.I run interfaced windows and norton firewalls, they work, i run windows antispy {formally giant antispy} and yahoo toolbar. Log off a.o.l. run antispy you will have at least 4 tracking cookies they put on,always when i use a.o.l. i must remove spyware always 4-6 the same ones.
i also have windows malisous spyware tool which catches a.o.l.They place the spyware and try to give you virus so you will use there "free" products, thereby getting you to think they are protecting you ,Joe of Arizona your
p.c. must be loaded with potenial dangers, run a real program and see what if finds that a.o.l. placed there.
I am in contact with federal goverment now and will show you end results.I am sorry off the top of my head can not name all spyware they put for sure one is 207 ,there are 4 everytime i log off, all the same ,all from a.o.l
as a.o.l.spyzapper is running they are filling you up with spyware.Goverment reports will follow soon.

RE: Spyware

AOL does not attack computers. AOL does occaisionally ping them. Ping is a common attribute of the internet and how TCP/IP works. There is a technical need for them to ping you, as its known as a "keepalive" to ensure the connection is active, and also for statistics for latency trackuing.
However, you mentioned Netbus. A full explanation of what Netbus is is available here (wikipedia description). You probably noticed that information in your Firewall software; which could be deemed as a "false-positive". Where the firewall software just gives an explanation for what type of service is usually associated with a port number. Anyone can ping any number of ports on your system.
AOL doesn't falsely advertise any terms reguarding the McAfee VirusScan and Spyware Protection, can you reference what is misleading? The virus scan is free of charge, and full working from AOL. AOL Keyword VirusScan will yield you access to download it, provided you do not have a virus scanner on your system already. Spyware Protection (2.0.7) is available for use from AOL Keyword SPYWARE.
