American Advantage, Dept. Of Grants, Fraudulently Claiming Go Pay Out Gov. Grants, Buena Park, Florida Fruadulently trying to gain bank account information., Ripoff Buena Park Florida

A woman from American Advantage called our home claiming to be handing out grants from the US government based on the premis that the citizens of the USA had been paying their bills on time so the government wanted to reward us. (first red flag) According to American Advantage approximately 500 PHONE numbers (second red flag) nation wide had been chosen, 5 or 6 in our state. However it was odd that the person they originally asked for has NEVER had our phone number. So she graciously offered my husband and I the $12,000 grant and all we had to do was give her our bank account number (the flag is on fire) so that the grant could be automatically deposited. When I informed the woman on the phone that I believed it was a fraud she tried to convince me it was not. I KNOW that the government does not just hand out money and would NEVER do so in this manner if it did. I asked if the company was working for the US Treasury and was told no. I then asked the address of the company and the phone number, this I was given.

I told the woman to call me back in one hour so that I could verify that what I was being told was true. She said that she would be glad to do that. I hung up the phone and immediately set about to prove this was a scam. I talked to the grants.gov by phone and gave them all the information and was told that this company was absolutly NOT giving out real grants from the government. I then called the Consumer Advocates and I am being sent a complaint form to fill out. Tomorrow morning I will report this company to the BBB in their area, since there is not a national BBB. It is too late today to reach the Central Florida BBB. I am also going to atempt to contact the news stations in the Seattle area to report this. DO NOT EVER give out your bank informatin for ANY reason. This is a TOTAL SCAM!!!
