This company has been trying to get me to pay an old debt owed to SBC-Southwestern Bell for the last 3 years. First of all I didn't even know I had an old bill for SBC. I have checked with them and they say they wouldn't know because if it was sent to collections it wouldn't show up.
Okay, so my question is are they really able to charge such a high interest? I know there was no way this bill was even close to being a $200 bill. I guess it was for a final phone bill or something. Anyways, if it was a final bill it would have only been like $100 because I wasn't ever athome at the address they say the bill belonged to.
So my point is how can my bill be $328 now and they are helping ruin my credit because of it. I don't understand. If anyone can help me get this cleared up please let me know.!!

Everyone keep a close eye on your credit reports, if you have had issues with American Agencies. They may put a negative on your reports under the new name. Different name, same shady tactics..
