1000 miles if you receive newsletters for three months. I emailed and received the reply below. I followed up with a phone call and found that the reason was that my email address was bouncing, but I received all the newsletters weekly as scheduled, and even received a test email that the agent sent me while on the phone.

Members who have qualified for this promotion have already received their bonus mileage. Members who did not receive a bonus evidently had something that prevented them from qualifying. We have offered email
subscription bonuses in the past, so typically this indicates that there had already been some kind of email subscription bonus offer posted to the account. In addition, current members of any of the email lists are
not eligible to earn bonus miles for lists they currently subscribe to and will not earn miles for un-subscribing and re-subscribing. We regret any disappointment this may cause you.

American Airlines gave me a 'bonus' of 1000 miles, after I asked specifically what kept me from receiving that amount. I didn't hear back regarding any reason.

I asked AA to prove why I was ineligible. They just decided to add 1000 points to the account.
