American Alarm Company denied many summer sales employees back end checks in 2007.  I honestly worked very hard, and despite constant corrections on my front end check of 200 dollars for every sale I received, my back end check was never sent.  After repeated attempts to secure this money through both Skye Knotts (payroll employee) and Jennifer Klimer (Payroll employee who mysteriously took Skye's position) and Danielle Paletz and the infamous Darryl Johnson himself, never was paid the agreed upon 4,081 dollars.  After continued threats of a lawsuit and final agreement of a no-harm paper sent through registered mail, they never sent a check.  After this happened they never would answer any of my phone calls, emails, or texts.  Many employees of this 2007 summer have either sued or are in the process of suing this company for obtaining wages.  Darryl told me himself that the amount that he needed to pay to employees amounted to either 75,000 or 750,000 - I can't remember so I will not pretend.

One employee in particular had his dad sue for him (he is an attorney) and he won.  Some ask why not do a class action lawsuit, but then Darryl threatened that he would claim bankruptcy and just start a company under another name and never have to pay a single cent to his employees.  He threatened that if we were going to bring a lawsuit against him, that he would plan on dragging it out as long as possible.  I don't trust this guy or Danielle for that matter at all.  I have all of my records and email correspondences still to show proof of my being screwed out the money.  They are not a good company - at least with their employees.  I don't know how they fare in their responsibilities with their customers.  If you are an employee thinking about signing on with this company, please save yourself the hassle and don't get yourself caught up in getting screwed out the money.

Consumer ripped off

We signed a three year contract in May of 2009.  Not only did we signup, we prepaid for three years.  We have not had to call the company for any reason until today.  Our sign in our from yard broke.  Since there have been recent robberies in the area, we thought it would be important to get a new sign.  Much to our surprise, the company has been closed for a year now.  We paid a total if 1152.00 and only received one year of monitoring.  The best part is, we were never notified, so we have been depending on this false sense of security (that doesn't exist anymore).  We are a family of five and every penny counts, so it really upsets me because we could have done a lot more with the money invested in this system.  Does anyone know what, if anything, we can do to try and receive the remaining money for the two years we have already paid for?  Any advice would be great.

This is the same poster as before.  I find it funny that all Darryl has to say is slurs, whereas I provide facts of what actually occurred and how it all went down.  Darryl, it is those same lies that I believed when I was giddy signing up under your company as a summer sales representative promised that I would make all this money.  I went out, worked hard, sold honestly, although I know some guys in our office were there just to scam people and force people into buying.  Just to give some people some background on the issue.  Jared Kilgore (known as Babe) and Mike (can't remember last name) that in 2007 were either co-owners or managers of the company.  They were put in charge of the summer sales in Utah and recruiting...it was by one of their representatives that sucked me into this mess and American Alarm.  He also got jipped out of his money as far as I know.  Back to the story...Jared and Mike wanted to branch off and make their own company called Siren.  Apparently Jared had millions and millions of dollars for his backing and promised big things to guys if they would transfer over to his company.  In other words, he would go around and visit the summer sales reps and try to recruit them to his company after the time was up during the summer.  I was one of the very few people that stayed until the very last day of the summer or when I signed the contract to be out in the field for, because after some shakeups in the company, I was concerned about whether I was going to get my backend check.  I wanted to make sure that there was no legal reason the company could claim that they didn't screw me.  So what Darryl is claiming is that he didn't want to pay for the back end check after Jared took away his summer sales force.

I find it funny the fact that when you do a google search of this company that all you get is rip off reports and complaints to different complaint boards from both employees and customers alike.  I can't even find their company website that they used to have...I wonder if he just claimed bankruptcy and started a business under a slightly different name?  I don't know.  I really honestly now feel bad for all those people that I sold a security system to.  They were good people!  I am not quite sure what the statute of limitations is on employee wages, but if still available to sue when I become a lawyer (2 more years), I will finally be able to collect the 4,081 dollars.  Good luck Darryl...or actually Danielle because she is actually the owner, not Darryl.

But Darryl, why don't you keep your lies coming and I will continue to tell more and more details of what actually occurred...and the rest of our office as well as whole summer sales force will back me up...Bless your heart, Darryl...we may be meeting again in 2 years...have a nice and peachy life until then.

I some times find it intresting that people have no accountability when they tell a story to defraud someone or there business. My name is Darryl Johnson and i have nothing to hide. I assist in running one of the largest alarm companys on the west coast. I put my pants on the same way everyone else does every day! Im also very accountable for my actions. Not always perfect but generally fair. American Alarm has installed over 30,000 customers since being incorperated in 2004. Our reputation has held strong accept for some of the 1,000 sales reps that have worked for aa. These reps are paid a commission to go out and attain new customers for AA. The problem is they lie and cheat customers and then the company is left bearing the responsibility of the lieing sales person.The information provided is false, this rep is one of the few guys that goes in the field and lies and cheats customers. I always pay my sales reps and that is why we have grown like we have. On a better note, i have sold 2500 customers personaly in the valley, look anywhere on earth to find one customer i defrauded or lied to. They don't exist. I also have had over 1,ooo reps work under me, ask the ones who dont lie cheat or steal about our reputation! I love my business and i love people and i love protecting them.We are not perfect but we try everyday to do the right thing as owners, rememeber who ever is reading this, THAT THERE ARE ALWAYS 2 SIDES TO A STORY!
