I purchased a classic contract with company which was to cover engine and transmission issues.  I have a transmission issue with the transmission solenoid pack.  It must be repalced for the vehicle to drive, but since they say it's not an internal part it won't be covered even though it is required to be able to drive the vehicl.

The cost of the part is $479.00 not including labor or the diagnostics required.  So why have a service contract if it is an integral part to be able to drive.

From the auto warranty's that I have read, there are more exclusions than inclusions.  In other words. you aren't buying what you think you are getting unless you read the entire contract before purchase.  The sales literature is designed to hook you in but the 'warranty' contract excludes items that are likely to fail. The warranty is strictly a revenue generator for the dealership - or the warranty sales rep.  If you purchased your contract through a dealership, cancel it as soon as you can and at least get your money back for the pro-rated portion of the unused contract. Do some research on auto warranty's and you may come up with the same conclusion I have:  they are worthless.
