My mom purchased a policy at 133k miles to cover her engine and drivetrain in the event of a failure from American Auto Shield last year........ WHAT A JOKE!
In mid February i got a call from her to go pick her up cause the engine quit working in her car, leaving her stranded on the side of the road. Subsequently, a friend and i towed her vehicle to Midas in westminster md to have them diagnose what went wrong with the vehicle. Midas had done all the service work on the engine since my mom purchased the car with 7k on it. the timing belt was installed on Dec 29, 2017 as part of recommended routine maintenance..The timing belt failed and caused the engine to jump time and bend all the valves in the head of her engine. Midas refused to work with a secondary company for the warranty so we had the vehicle towed to len stoler hyundai in owings mills md. they said the same thing, it jumped time. No difinitive reason for it jumping time either.
American Auto Shield was called concerning this matter - they refuse to honor their contract with my mother for the repair of the vehicle. They are also refusing to send us a refusal email concerning this matter.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE RIPOFF ARTISTS THEYLL SOAK YOU FOR UPWARDS OF 3K OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND REFUSE TO HONOR REPAIRS THEY HAVE BEEN CONTRACTED TO PAY FOR, AND ARGUE WITH YOU DURING EVERY CONVERSATION.... UNPROFESSIONAL AS HELL AND RIPOFF SCAMMERS

American Shield made good on refunding my mom the money she paid for the service contract

American Shield refunded the full amount of the contract cost to my mom. so even though they did not honor the contract between her and them, they did make good by refunding the full cost of the contract.
