A young "college" student came to the door one evening in early May 2008.

My children need to renew a magazine subscription and although it cost a little more to go thru CCI, I felt it was for a good cause and went ahead. I thought I was helping the young lady (who was supposedly in the lead) to earn a trip to Florida.

Weeks later still no magazines but I received a phone call apologizing for the delay... and as a "thank you" they are sending me 2 subscriptions to shopping services to trial. I declined the services. The woman on the phone said that they would be sent anyway and after a free month trial I could cancel. If I did not cancel they would use my cheking account information (that they kept on file) to pay for the subscription. The woman told me that she needed to record my consent and that's when I hung up the phone.

I've been watching the mail and keeping an eye on my checking account and have not received the shopping services/seen no unauthrized withdrawls from my checking account.

I feel so stupid and will never "help out" a college kid selling door to door again. I will close my checking account now that I've read of other rip-offs from this company.
