got a call from matthew jones saying i had won 2.5 million dollars. american cash awards said company is in new york

number is 8764676086 i knew he was conning me but i let him talk for a few minutes. now i see i can be charged for that call. that is not cool!

Looks like the 876 area code is (the island of) Jamaica.

If he called you - you shouldn't have to pay for the call. However, if you returned his call - then it will be an international call. Unfortunately, there are a bunch of Jamaican scams now and that phony lottery scam is one of the most well-known scams around. Check out the American Greed show featuring the Jamaican Lottery scam. At least you knew enough not to fall for it.
