American colony Rip off Fort lauderdale Nationwide

 On May 2nd 2015 my husband and I tried renting a home in Port Saint Lucie fl through colony American homes. We were told by our realtor that we had to go on thier website fill out the application an pay our $70 app fee. After doing that I had explained to her numerous times I was very nervous about our credit, and was told it should not be a problem an that if anything she can get a "credit over ride". Well sunday May 3rd she called me to say "I really don't know about your credit or the over ride" my only thought was great we had just forked out $70 dollars for what? So I waited to hear back from colony American homes and received a email that my husband does not make enough money per month.

It was $200 short and we need 6 months bank statements showing more income. Which is rediclous concedering he makes plenty of money with a perfect renters background. Also, colony American stated that we also have to pay an additional $20 extra each month for our dog on top of already having to pay a pet deposite of $250 and it didn't end there the wanted over $4500 to move in and saying we have to have proof of a $100,000 renters ins. At that point I said I am not gonna play thier game. We are out $70 but also away from this awful company. Thier standards are set so high you can't rent from them, meanwhile our realtor knew all of this prior to us paying and doing the app. DONT EVER RENT FROM COLONY AMERICAN HOMES!!!
