American Dream Home Improvements Will not repair the substandard workmanship of their contracted crew Downers Grove Illinois

 Signed contract on May 13, 2014, work began on June 21, 2014. To begin with install date was forcasted with heavy storms moving into the area however crew removed total roofing area. While papering the roof and moving shingles up one of the workers went through the decking even exclaimed "I just went through the roof." that got my attention and when I went into the garage they were above me and discussing how to not repair it. I imediately told them to get off the roof untill we contacted someone about this problem as they had already cut a piece of tar paper and put it over the hole so no one else would step on it. The crew boss said he didn't have time for this and said they would just shingle over it because it was not that bad.

 Since we could not get a hold of anyone and the crew boss said he had no authorization to purchase any decking I went to the local lumber store and had to make a total of three trips because no body knew how much decking would be needed to do the roof. The total roof was not redecked however I supplied over 90 sheets of new decking. This was issue number one. The next issue was the storms, it came down in buckets and the crew tarped off the roof using tarps with holes so in fact it was as if nothing covered the roof. It wasn't long before we had water stains seeping into the upstairs bedroom ceilings, all of my mechanical equipment in my garage was soaked thankfully the only tool damaged was a digital torque wrench. It was replaced and the damaged one was returned to the store as a return because it didn't work. I know this because the contractor bragged about how it cost him nothing and told me what he had done.

 Other issues are as follows, my siding was ripped because the dropped my satellite dish to the ground and the cable cut right throug the corner siding, this the repaired with a couple of sheet metal screws instead of replacing that corner like a professional would have done, a piece of the decking was dropped by the crew leader and broke out one of my garage light completely out of the brick, the repair was a couple of screws there. One of the crew members instead of using a ladder climb my fence ripped it away from the garage wall just so he could get on the roof and also tore down a section of gutter, this was repaired by again gutter type sheet metal screws into the gutter and into the outer facia board this winter I will most likely be replacing that gutter from the weight of snow, the fence post was never addressed. All of my gutters were filled with nails and cigarette butts and pieces of shingles, the flashing on my chimney was a total wreck they used the old bent up flashing and then RTV'd it and placed flashing that was on the truck a totally different color than what came with the materials and it was also horrid, because the drilled into my chimney 12 inches above the roof line to attach this to the chimney not even touching the roof or flashing below, and rtv'd it in place as well, imagine if you will 3/4 of my chimneys edges covered with brown flashing, clear rtv in a 14 inch swathe and the rest of my roof is black. Jason Kreuger at American Dream had another crew come out to repair this and their repair was supposed to be tear it off and do it right, here is what I got 5 guys and a can of black spray paint. They did not replace any of the step flashing, and the repair on it is a piece of the original black flashing covering the old step flashing.very little clean up was done after the job, Yesterday waiting for the crew to show up to once again fix the flashing,(surprise they never showed) I still picked up almost 20 more nails from my yard, yes almost 5 months later still cleaning up.

     Anyway the original contracted guy for the job came out to paint the ceilings that were water damaged, he spot painted and said give them a few days and if it didnt cover he would come back and do it again. Yes the stains were still visable, so he came back and redone them, a few days later they reappeared so we called in a company to check for wet insulation  and advise up, insulation was dry so we again contacted Jason Kreuger at ADHI and he said he called the contractor and that he would be out to paint each ceiling completely, the guy came and again just wanted to "spot paint" we advised his as to what Jason told us would be done and the guy got so irate I had to make him leave my house because all the stains needed was another touch up. After informing Jason of this new issue and what had transpired Jason got another crew to come paint the ceilings, they called and wanted to know if they would be getting paid by us and we told them no that it was on ADHI to pay them, they never showed up. So Jason and I came to an agreement that I would do the work and supply the paint and he offered a $300.00 deduction from our remaining balance.

 The ceilings were done and they are great, now back to the flashing around the chimney. Jason called and said that they were waiting on a different color to come in because we had requested it through the crew who was supposed to do the repair. They told Jason that the lady wanted a different color which is funny because the day they were supposed to come my wife was at work and there is no way you can mistake me for a lady at 247 lb's bald head and full white beard 9 inches long. Jason had no idea or so he claims what had happened, so he gives my wife the crews number and tells her to call them and she said OK and that she would call him back and advise him of what is happening. My wife called this guy and he said to her that he doesnt get paid to fix another crews work and that he wasn't going to do it and didn't want to do it. My wife said fine and called Jason back and advised him of what transpired from the conversation. Jason said he would find out what is going on and would call back. Jason called back and told my wife that they would be able to come Monday October 6th after 6:00 pm. She had wanted it done on a Tuesday so that I could be at home and make sure the repair was done correctly, but that Monday after 6 would be alright because I would be here then. Again they did not show up.

  My wife contacted ADHI this morning and request the name and contact information for the President of the Company after having to give up her information she immediately gets a phone call fron Jason Kreuger on our home phone we did not answer because we knew what it was about because the person on the chat end of the computer was quiet and non responsive. Jason then calls my wifes cell phone and she answered and put it on speaker, he proceeds to say that my wife yells at the crews and cusses them out and that they don't want to be at our house, so he is going to give us a $300.00 credit once more and we can hire someone out to do the work they have failed so often to do.  He then gets very obnoxious and beligerant with my wife saying that all she wants is money and that she is a liar and just being totally unprofessional and I took the phone because this was getting my wife upset and I go out into the garage were Jason proceeds to call me stupid and other insults and continues to belittle my wife to me and says we can go to the attorney general in ohio and illinois and we can even go to Obama and all kinds of other insane remarks and so eventually tired of hearing his rants I terminated the call. I did however inform him that I will find out who his boss is and who the president of the company is and will most likely drive to Illinois Friday on my day off from classes at my University and have a chat with the gentleman about his employees and the way they talk to their customers and how they believe that we are just out for money from them. We have mentioned several times that alll we require is the job that was promised to us we already have money so that isn't the issue.

  I have property damage to oil paintings that were stored in my garage of myself and a couple other family members from 40 years ago when I lived in Europe we have christmas ornaments that had been given to our daughter  custom made from her grandmother who has since passed, ornaments that are of hand painted glass ruined by water damage which have been passed down 4 generations in my own family and Jason says well I will give you another $250.00 credit for that sh**. Yeah, I'm very offended and he put gasoline on a smoldering ember. So now my recourse is to get my roof redone by a reputable company who will stand behind their work and file as many suits as possible against ADHI not for the money but for the principal of the treatment I and my wife recieved by Jason Kreuger and ADHI.

 There are more issues to this and the reason it seems jumbled is because of chronological order, really too much to post but once legalities take place I will continue to keep updating this.
