American Law Department American Law Firm Threating Phone Calls Arlington, Texas

Have received several phone calls from an "Alex Matthews, Senior Attorney" from "American Law Department" or "American Law Firm".  He sounds Indian or Pakistani and is very, very rude.  He said my husband was in big trouble and that if he didn't hear from him he was going to forward the information he had about a loan (and of course couldn't discuss with me) to the state police in my state.

I pushed him some more and asked him exactly what was the name of his firm and he told me American Law Department and when I said which is it, he said, "we are a very big firm with lots of departments".

Well I called the Texas Bar Association (the call originated out of Arlington, TX) and they have no attorney in their system by that name.  I urge anyone that gets calls like this and knows they, their spouse or a loved one does not have any type of loan to call the Bar Association in the state the call originated from.  They can look up any name in their system and tell you if they are an actual licensed attorney in that state.  Then when they call back, you can tell them what you found out and I bet they hang up before you finish what you are saying.
