On 03/28/13 i received a rude shock looking at my credit report - there was a delinquency report by some collection agency called NCO. On investigating further, i found that it was for AMR - a couple of emergency visits that i had in the past year. One in early 2012 and one is early 2013.

When i called to check with AMR, they claimed that they did not have my address. The fact is that they had the address but didn't have the apartment number. Both AMR and NCO tried to cover it up claiming that i didn't check my mails regularly. But later, they agreed that they didn't have my apartment number correctly on file.

Once i found the issue, the same day i.e on march 28th 2013 i gave them my insurance information and asked them to fax the claims to the insurance immediately. The first claim was serviced on 03/30/2012 and hence the 1 year time frame was coming up (March 29 was good friday, 30 and 31 - was weekend). The claim was not faxed and now they are claiming that i never gave them the fax number.

Eversince then, ive made calls to AMR, NCO regularly and all the credit bureaus but to no avail. My insurance has not received the claims till date. AMR says since they forwarded it to NCO and NCO was asked to send to the insurance. NCO has no idea about it. The credit bureaus have it outstanding on my credit report. With great difficulty i managed to get AMR send me a letter about putting the account on hold with the credit bureaus. They are not committing that the credit bureaus will actually do it.

I have no idea what do now. AMR is ripping me off - emotionally and mentally by not sending it to the insurance  and yet expecting me it ASAP.

Class Action

AUTHOR: Dahlz - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, March 14, 2016

My family and I are going through something similar with this company, except it's for a ride that my son took from the hospital he was born in to a NICU 15 minutes away. They never filed the claim with my insurance within the 6 month time limit, but did send me to "collections" (Bay Area Credit Service) after 2 months because they did not have my apartment number in my address that I very clearly listed on on all of my paperwork. We just started receiving calls from the collections company last week almost 3 years after my son was born. After reading all of these reports I feel compelled to put this scam to rest once and for all. Would you be interested in joining me in a class action lawsuit against American Medical Response?
