I received a mailing in 2012 informing me I was selected toreceive a 1986 $5 Silver Certificate commemorative coin for a surprising discout price of $4.95 from the original price of $79.95. I purchased the coin and received it. Therafter, I received and paid the full price for the remaining 11 coins in the set. The set was to be saved for my grandchildren in my estate. I decided to sell some of my other collectibles and had a knowledgeable individual review my collection. The individual offered to purchase the set for about half the original price due to the price of silver (solid silver coin) being $11 down from my original purchases. This individual then took this particular set to a coin collector for evaluation. I and the individual were shocked to learn the coins were silver plated over copper and basically worthless. I am now out over $1,000 and a collection meant for my  grandkids. The individual signing the invoices and confirmation 'congratulations' letter was Michael Young - Vice president.

I have been ripped off and not happy. The terms silver and certificate are truly misleading and basically false in nature. I would like to seek legal action against this firm even though they cleverly disclosed in a passing way that the coins were plated. The certificates were little  replicas pasted on the coin. Should there be a way to recover some of my loss i wish to pusue it legally. My main objective is to rid firms like this from society and from preying on the less informed around us.
