American Realty/Cabins-Cabins Of Gatlinburg Magic Memories/Nightmare Gatlinburg tennessee

I was very disappointed with our first and last reservation of a cabin in Gatlinburg. My wife made a reservation at a cabin near Gatlinburg called "Magic Memories" in November 2007 for April 25-26 2008. We arrived at 11:30 PM after a long drive from Ohio.

We found that their were only five towels in the cabin. according to the "binding agreement" Julie Owens , our agent, sent us by e-mail, was what there would be two towels per guest.The cabin was filthy.Dead bugs on the floor of the kitchen. Mold on the shower curtain, yellow stains on the pillow with no pillow case and no sheet for the sleeper sofa. No working phone to call anyone. No working smoke detector (cover missing,no battery). Although their website says that all cabins have fire extinguisher and smoke detector,no fire extinguisher. Not enough bedding to accommodate the 6 people I listed when I made the reservation and the 6 people in the confirmation notice I received from them.

The grill was a fire hazard, their were holes in grill where the charcoal would have fallen through the rusted bottom.A large wooden door on the bedroom wall that covered a fresh-water manifold, fell to the floor when my sister-in-law brushed against it. The window shades were so torn up anyone could see us through the window. Many of the slats were broken.

When I initially made the reservation in November, a hot tub appeared on the the web page. I assumed that their would be a working hot tub at the cabin. The water was GREEN and the pump and heater would not operate. Had I known the hot tub was not in working order, I would have chosen a different cabin.The cabin was in such deplorable condition, we felt that it was a health and safety hazard. The only reason we stayed Friday night, is because we did not arrive until 11:30 pm after a long drive. We had children with us who were very tired.

We left at 8:00 am Saturday morning to check into a clean motel in Pigeon Forge. I called Julie Owens several time to leave voice mails. I received no response. She finally returned my calls after three hours. She stated she would have to contact the owner of the company (Shahrooz Fard).

When she returned my call, she said that they thought there were only four guests, towels were limited and bedding was limited. She said that the price we paid did not include a hot tub. She become very rude and hung-up on me. Take my advice and NEVER deal with American Realty/ Cabins or Cabins of Gatlinburg or Julie Owens!
