I received an email from a company that said they came across my resume online, and wanted to interview me for a job as a Recruiter.  They gave me an option of the time and day of the interview to select.  I picked today, July 5th, 2012, at 1:00 EST (which is 10:00 a.m for me in CA.)

I signed in and joined with many other people, and listened to and watched slides. A man was speaking the whole time, from a small corner, top right box on screen & went on and on about how wonderful American Recruiting Association(ARA) is, and how you can make so much money.

The reason I opted in for this interview is, I had suspicions immediately when I received the email and figured it was a bogus job offer.  Well, I was correct!  What they do is ask you to join at their website by picking either "option A or option B".  

Option A is = You pay $317.00 now, and Option B= You pay over two months.  I entered a complaint about having to pay any company money to work for them, into the Chat Box they provided for us.  I saw that they acknowledged those people who had just joined at their website, by their name.  

And then I saw that when I had made my comments, complaining that I should not have to pay an employer to work for their company, my comment was not only ignored, but they disconnected me from the interview session as soon as I made the comment.
  
I also saw a woman's comment on the chat, about her possibly getting a lawyer, due to something about her testimony being on their introductory page.  In the testimony, she talks about how she had left her high paying position at a university, to take this job.

 I don't know what her whole story is, but she obviously had a serious problem with the company.
 Anyway, I felt bad for those who actually went to the ARA website and paid over $300 to join this company.  Can something be done about this company?  How do they get away with this?

They say they provide you with job openings that companies have, and that as a Recruiter with ARA, you set people up with the best jobs for them, scheduling interviews between them and the employers.  I knew of course this was likely a scam, but I wanted to sit in on the whole interview and get all of the information.

Thank you for your time, and I would like to ask which company besides BBB can I contact, is it the Attorney General's Office.  The BBB only reports on what takes place, I do not think they can prosecute companies that are fraudulent.  Please help!
