American Truck Group are nothing but a rip-off. My son and I bought a 2006 Peterbilt 379 with C 15 engine in September of 2011. The truck needed work when we got it and they told us that they were going to make it like new and put more money in it than they were selling it for. They were going to replace the engine with a new one put new tires on it and go through it with a fine tooth comb. While they rebuilt the top of the motor, put recaps on it and must have had a large fine tooth comb to go through it.

 After two week of having the truck We brought it back to them with no power with load on truck and engine making a nose like a stuck exhaust vale, Pyro gauge blinkin warnings, exhaust temp senor needing to be replaced, Turbo boost pressure jumping 35-52 psi while idling or diriving. The clutch needs to be adjusted it is hard to get int low or high gears. They keep the truck 2 weeks. We got it out and on the 3rd load it broke down and had it towed back to them. They keep it for a noter week. We got it out and still no power with load on truck and now loseing power going up hills with or with out a load. I I do meen little hills like ramps going up interstate. we keep the truck for about 2 week and took it back to them, Now the clutch needs to be replaced that coast 800.00 because the driver knew that something was wrong and did not stop. Had the truck lass than a week and guess what it broke down again with no high/low gears no clutch. Called them and they wanted us to drive it to them. I again let them know that the truck could not be moved with out towing. They let us know that it was our responisablty to get it back to them. After going back and forth with them about this I told them I was leaving it where it was. They said they would tow it to  theire shop and would give us another truck. When we got there they told us that it was just the clutch again and it was the drivers foult. This time they charged us 1750.00 for the repairs.

After having the truck for 2 weeks again we went to pick it up and it would not start. After all day being there they did replace the battiers.  Have a load in FL and guss what one mile after picking up load it broke down and would not go into gear. I called them and all they told me is to get a tow truck. I went through a lot of transfers but never got any thing done. My son the driver was able to get it to go into gear and brough it back to the shop with the load in tow. All they could say is they do not know what is wrong with it for him to finish the load which was to be delivered to TX and bring the truck back. He did deliver the load but we did not bring the truck to them. Now I have a truck that is broke down and no one to fix it. They have my money and I am unable to get another truck. They talk real sweet and promise you everything but give you nothing but trouble. I wished I had not encouraged my son to get a truck from them. Do not even go by there they will rip you off.
