Americas Best Shows - North East Trade Shows - VT Log Home & Timber Frame Show at Champlain Valley Expo - Augusta Boat Show - Maine Log Home Show at Augusta Armory - Augusta Camper & RV Show - NE Log & Timber Frame Show Cancelled CT Green Energy Show originally scheduled for April 09, then Sept 09; refused to refund my $2000 booth payment, along with about 60 other exhibitors' booth fees!! In March 2009, I was contacted by Americas Best Shows, also known as NOrth East Trade Shows, based on Yarmouth, Maine. Americas Best Shows was the Producer of Connecticut Green Energy & Living Show at Hartford Expo Center, in Hartford, CT April 2009. I eventually registered 2 booths for this show, paying $1990 for my companies booth space. I'm a builder and remodeler based on CT. About 3 weeks from the April show date, I received a phone call from Rober J Cole, President Americas Best Shows, saying the show was being postponed in September 2009. Bob assured me and about 50 other exhibitors who had paid for this show, that the September show would absolutely go on, and be successful. He tried to blame the post poning on his employees, when later I found out, it was completely his decision, and employees actually quite because of his decision to postpone this show. In September, 3 weeks before the rescheduled date, I received a letter from Americas Best Shows, saying the CT Green Energy Show was completely cancelled and due the "bad economy" I would NOT be receiving a refund!! I'm know, from speaking with other exhibitors, that approx 60 other companies, who paid between $900 and $2000 for their booth space; and others who paid thousands of dollars for sponsorship, also received the same exact letter. I tried to call Rober J Cole, President of Americas Best Shows, in Maine, AKA North East Trade Shows, and he hung up on me. I filed a suit with the Maine States Attorney General. I went to their website: www.americasbestshows.com and saw they have dozens of shows scheduled for 2009 and 2010! And that they have been in business for over 20 years!! Yet, Americas Best Shows stole money from Connecticut companies, I think, because he doesn't have nor has he ever done a show in CT. He does shows in NH, VT and Maine, so he thinks this wont' effect his business! In total, were talking about $50,000 to $75,000 that Bob Cole, Ann Ahearn, and Chris Weaver was able to steal for CT companies, without providing anything as spelled out in the exhibitor/sponsor contract. Americas Best Shows produces dozens of shows, so please BEWARE OF ANY OF THEIR SHOWS!!
