Americas Homeplace Inc. Living in a junkpile for 9 years Hickory North Carolina

The nightmare started with the financing of the mortgage.They talked us into taking out a second mortgage at the completion of construction.This would pay off our credit card debt and car so we could afford a higher mortgage payment.The amount of the second mortgage was $30,000.00. When we went to close,there were two checks written.One for $5,000.00 to pay our car off as promised. Instead of paying off our credit card debt with the other $25,000.00,they made the check payable to "Americas Homeplace."

Now we had two mortgages plus our credit card debt!!This threw us into bankruptcy with a perfect credit score!!We have held on to this junkpile they built because now we have bad credit and can't even rent an apartment.We are paying two mortgages totaling $1,450.00 per month and can barely afford food.Americas Homeplace claims to have a one year warranty.We had to call our building superintendent,"Chuck Frazier",2-3 times a day every day for 6 months before anyone came to the house to supposedly fix what they messed up.

The front door was framed into the house crooked.So they fixed it by drilling another hole in the frame so it would close. Daylight streams in at the top of the door.Cold air comes in at the diagonal gap at the bottom.All the interior doors and door mouldings are hung 2 inches above the flooring.It looks silly!!The mouldings around the floor are noticeably crooked.When you turn the water on in the sinks,you can hear it dripping under the house.

The pipes under the house are held up with nylon straps!!The sap kept oozing through the wood on the floor of the front poarch.We would prime and paint but it continued to ooze.All the wood on the poarch is rotted.We had to tear off the front poarch!!The kitchen countertops started seperating from the wall the second week after we moved in.There is now a 1/2" inch gap between the walls and the countertops.Chuck sent a man out to fix this.He plastered putty to fill the gaps instead of fixing it right.The countertops have seperated for the fourth time now.We continue to live in this junkpile because we can not see a way out.
