On Feb/09/05 my husband and I wrote a check to Americas Manufacted Homes, INC. for the sum of $40,000 as a down payment towards the purchase of a CHAMPION HOME. David Villmer is the owner of Americas Homes. He took our $40,000 check and deposited it in his Bank. He told us he ordered our CHAMPION HOME.
Americas Homes is no longer in business. David Villmer has now filed BANKRUPYCY. Long story short we lost our $40,000 and never received our home. CHAMPION HOMES OF TENNESSEE has not offered any help to us. The Attorney General of Missouri is of no help. We retained an ATTORNEY to recover our damages. We are having a hard time trying to get our money back, and paying our attorney.
My husband and I are HOMELESS do to our $40,000 loss. We are living in a R.V. with 3 dogs.D avid Villmer lives in a nice big beautiful home on land . He now is the SALES MANAGER for BROPFS Manufactured Homes in St.Charles MO. As for anyone thinking about buying a MANUFACTURED HOME do your home work before you buy your home.Buy a home from a manufacture company who stands behind their DEALERS , and can back them !! Hopefuly your DEALER is honest, financially sound and you get yhe home of your dreams.

Dear Kelly,
I sure share your pain.I just went through the worst time buying my home from a scum bag dealer.Who sells homes for a manufacture named homes of merit. The dealer is named Central mobile homes in Labelle Florida.I lost over $15,000 While waiting for my home.It took over a year to get my home.Had to pay storage fees and rent for a year. And the home turned out to be a big hunk of crap.Saging floors, lots of roof prblems doors mounted crooked all plumbing has leaked cracked ceilings, windows have had to be replaced.Homes of merit/champion homes sent a bunch of drunks out to set up my modular home up.While working on my home the workers fell through the ceiling in three diferent places.Three big holes in my ceiling. And they were nice enough to leave all of the beer bottles on my bar. When they left
It would take for ever to tell all.All i can say is my home will allways be a big pile of crap.Iam just getting it fixed the best i can.Its one of those thing that will just never be correct.
My advise to you guys is if you get your money back is dont buy a modular home. They seem to be junk. But if you still feel you you need a modular home.Get a lawer next time if you cant afford that tell the new dealer you will put you down payment in an escrow account. And when you are happy with the job you will then sign it over.
In my area florida insurance companies dont want to insure this junk at all.Iam paying very high prices for insurance if i can get it over two thousand a year and going up ever day.Screened rooms attached to my home they wont insure at all.the insurance co. says go to loyds of london if you want ins. on screeded rooms
I checked out the companies that screwed me after the fact. And found out that both the manufacture homes of merit/Champion homes and the dealer Central mobile homes have both been sued alot a list as long as your arm.Of course that dont help you.But if you go to a search engine ask.com and do what i did .Type in the name of your court house that the dealer and the manufacture are located.Look under cival records for both. And look under the name of the guy that owns the dealer. And see what his record is like.
If you or your lawer can show a history of them pulling this crap in the past it may help.Disect everthing in those court records.See if this scum bag dealer had two or three other companies in the past. You might be shocked at what you will find.
You can pull up just about any records at any courthouse for free.It didnt cost me anything.I just did it to late. And couldnt afford a lawyer
I wish you folks the best of luck. And remember trust no one
Homes of merit/Champion in my opinion is junk junk junk
