Americom Americom Tried to Cheat Us Washington, DC DC

We were going to be charged $150/month more for our Verizon phone service because Americom tried to cheat us.  This is what happened: 

We received a call from a marketing company "on behalf of Verizon" telling us they could get us a better rate on our Verizon bill. They asked for our organization's name, address, my name, and my email, and then said they would work on getting us a better rate. They said they recorded portions of the call. I gave them to information but/I didn’t give them the information because itseemed like a strange call to me so I called Verizon. They told me the call sounded strange and that nothing would be changed on our account unless it was authorized by us. When I called Americom's call-back number, the "direct line" took me to a new salesperson. When I confronted him about their relationship with Verizon and our account, he put me on hold and the call was eventually dropped. However, the company (Americom) was somehow able to give Verizon our info and tell them that they were authorized to make changes to our plan. Luckily, I got an email notification that our plan was going to changeand our bill would increase by $150 per month. I notified Verizon of this and they said Americom does work with them, and they made a note of how Americom tried to cheat us.
