NEED SOLUTIONS FOR BARB
I AM IN THE DISAGREEMENT WITH THOSE RESPONSES---- THIS LADY ONLY WANTS HER HOME BACK , FROM A SHAM OF A DIVORCE, SHE DID NOT THROW AWAY HER HOME, HE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HER, OK. SHE HAD NO IDEA THAT HE DID THIS BANKRUPSY OK, UNTILL TO LATE PLEASE HELP HER OUT SHE IS WILLING TO KEEP HER HOME AND PAY FOR IT , HE WAS THE TRADER OK. LETS HAVE SOME COMPASION FOR THIS, HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS .

Why would you speak in a 3rd party term. Your original post says NOTHING about Bankruptcy. No one has called anyone a trader. This has nothing to do with Compassion, it's a loan that went into default.

Either way if you want to keep your house and property you have to pay the loan. Your post above states you're willing to pay for it but your original post also states you want a loan for what the house is worth today $24,000 not the original loan taken out.

I'm sorry honey but the only way you can prevent foreclosure is to pay the mortgage. If you think that's being incompassionate then that's what you'll have to think.

Barbara, I'm sorry to hear your life has taken this tramatic turn, sadly many are going thru what your going thru for similar reasons (Divorce, housing market took a dive etc etc).

Unfortunately, you took out a loan for "X" dollars when property values where HIGH and are responsible for paying "That" loan back. Just because the value of your property has dropped from $70,000 to $24,000 the mortgage company does not have a moral obligation to reduce your loan and forgive the remaining $51,000. of debt.

Hate to tell you this but the foreclosure "IS" your decision, you made it when you stopped paying your monthly mortgage and the courts are abiding by the contract "YOU" signed.

If you don't make your payments, you will get foreclosed on. It isn't entirely out your hands, you can bring the loan current and this will stop. They don't stop default/foreclosure procedures because you have unfortunate circumstances. It just doesn't work that way. This is not a rip off, this is you being behind on your mortgage and the mortgage company, in accordance with your mortgage and note that YOU signed, foreclosing. I would imagine you never read those documents, most people don't. Take the time to read them now so you can understand what is happening.
