I was a student at the Columbia, MD Ameritrain location. I enrolled in October of 2001. I felt like I was coerced into the school from the moment I walked in the door.

My admissions rep was more like a used car salesman trying to sell me on some piece of crap from the backlot, than someone who was interested in answering my questions and making sure this was what I wanted to do.

I guess that it is mostly my fault for not looking into this more, and researching Ameritrain. I just gave them my money and they sent me on my way.

I was enrolled in the LAN Devolpment course, but only completed the A+/Net+ portion. I postponed my MCSE section to wait for the instructor that I had for the first portion of the training.

And then the frustrations begin. The instructor that I wanted quit. So I decided to go with this new guy they brought in. I went to class for a week and was not happy with the instruction I was recieving. So I postponed the class again.

That was the last time I was in class. From there on out I got the run around about when the class would resume and who the instructor would be. At this point I decided that I wanted a partial refund. I was tired of all of the bullshit that I was getting from Ameritrain.

I mailed a letter to Steve Gouveia stating that I was not happy with my experience and I was requesting a refund. To which I received no acknowledgement from anyone from Ameritrain.

I was then put in contact with the Assistant States Attorney's office and the Higher Education Commission. They told me that they where looking into it, but weren't very confident about getting any money from Amertrain.

I was also in contact with Salle Mae, whom my loan was through. I received only slightly more help from them, than I did from Ameritrain. Which is to say NONE.

So, now I am out thousands of dollars, months of my time, and up until recently, a job. All thanks to Ameritrain.

If you are interested in going to any technical training school I would look extensively into the background of the school you are considering. I would also look for another lending institution other than SLM(Salle Mae).

From a very pissed Ameritrain student who would like to run into Mr. Davis in a dark alley.
