My husband and I have Aetna insurance. On Aetna's website, it mentions that we could save money on hearing aids if we go through Amplifon to this link: http://www.amplifonusa.com/aetna

I signed up with Amplifon on 8/28/17 to proceed in purchasing a pair of (left and right) hearing aids (Oticon OPN 1 (Premium) MiniRite) with one of their providers. On the very first page of the link provided, Amplifon advertises a "Best price guarantee - If you find the same hearing aid at a lower price, we’ll beat it by 5%". I found a place online at HearStore that offers the EXACT same hearing aids at a MUCH cheaper price. Amplifon has these hearing aids for $2795 each. HearStore has them for $1899 each. I told a Customer Service Advocate this over the phone and sent them the info via email. I received an email from them the next day saying they aren't able to honor the price match since it is an online quote and it didn't include fittings or programming. However, there is NO asterisk or disclaimer underneath this ad stating the hearing aids had to include fittings or programming or that it couldn't be an online quote. If they aren't going to honor this ad, then it's false-advertising.

Side Note: There is also another place that has the same hearing aids at a cheaper price: BuyHear.com. I have mentioned this to Customer Service Advocate in the email as well.

Another Side Note: 8/30/17 - I sent yet another email stating that my local provider, who is in Amplifon's directory, has the same hearing aids for $3780.  I asked if Amplifon would meet (and beat by 5%) their quote, yet.  Didn't receive a response and decided to dispute this with the Better Business Bureau.

As of 9/5/2017 - Amplifon has responded to BBB's complaint but are making continuous excuses on why they aren't able to price match the EXACT same hearing aids from other places.  They are saying, "It can't be an online quote." "The price has to include fittings and programming." "It has to come from a professional".

However, NONE of this criteria is stated online. There is no disclaimer anywhere.

I will attach the screenshots I have taken of their website.   This is a dishonest company who is not honoring their ad. If they are not going to honor it, they need to take down the ads.  Meanwhile, shame on you, Amplifon!!

I am confused as to why you would go through all this trouble if you found the hearing devices for much much cheaper as you say. Why not by from the website you found them on, must just be a simple click and pull your credit card out right? I'll tell you why. Hearing devices are medical devices, even if you got them you wouldn't know what to do with them. It takes a medical professional to diagnose, program, and adjust. If you have an issue are you going to ship back to the website? No, you want to go in and see the professional. You do not get tools and pull out your own teeth do you? No you do not. You go to an oral surgeon and there are professional fees. It is the same with these devices. Seems to me you understand this , that is why you are hounding to get them through the provider than rather just buy the devices at the cheap price. Thank you and have a great day.
