In February of 2013 I was contacted by Bill Murry in regards to the phone system that I needed for my office, since we just moved it was very convenient timing.  Initial Quote I was given by Walter Davis who acompanied Bill once we had a meeting at my office was $4,657.46 for Allworx 6X System (10 phones).  I actually saw the phones in my office while Walter and Bill were giving me the Presentation, but the price was too steep and I wated to see what other options they had.

Then Bill came back with an offer for an ESI CS50L DPS and the proposed price we agreed on was $3,000.00 for the system and 10 phones.  I did not have a chance to look at the system by Bill assured me it was compateble to Allworx and I would like it, so I trusted Bill and agreed to have it installed.  I gave Bill a check on the 02/15/13 for $3,000.00 and the system was supposed to be installed on the 18th of the same month.

Monday February 18th came around and Bill was at my office to do the installation, I was surprised a bit but did not mind. Bill Started on the installation and in 4 hours started to open up the hardware (actual phones) that is when the first red flag went up. The phones looked very cheap and did not justify $3,000.00.  I asked bill how come they do not match to his description of being compatable to Allworx, Bill replied that in his opinion they are.  It is at that time that I descided to go with the Allworx hardware, all Bill had to do was unplug the ESI system and plug in the Allworks System and phones.  

To my surprize the amount that Bill told me would be $5,465.35 minus the $3K I already paid the diference would be $2,465.35 at first I did not question him but when I looked up their original proposed offer is when I felt lied to.  The original offer for the Allworx was $4,657.46, Bill was going to charge me $807.89 more then the proposed price.  I was upset if you could only imagine.  

I told Bill that I do not want to play games, lets just have me cut the diference from the original offer which would be $1,657.46 and plug in the Allworx hardware. Bill without hesitation told me that the Price has changed and that if I wanted the Allworx I would have to pay $2,465.35 or be stuck with the ESI system. It is at that time I told him I don't want iether one of them, and to take the ESI system whith him. Bill ignored me and walked out of my office.

I called Bill and Walter numerous times that day and the following day but they ignored my calls, I've requested a copy of a contract that they alleged I signed (I never signed a contract with them) they ignored me. I finally sent a detailed email requesting for them to remove the ESI system and hardware off my property and refund me the money, I was actually understanding towards Walter and Bill, actually offered to pay for the labor at $30 per hour that Bill spent at my office, Bill only spent about 4 to 5 hours at my office but I offered to pay for 10 hours of his time which would be $300.00 to be deducted from the $3,000.00 that I've paid them. Both Bill and Waltered ignored me and flat out told me to sue them.

It is now November of 2014 and the ESI phone system has been sitting in my office storage collecting dust, I eventually went with ShoreTel and a reputable company that had an actual contract.  

If these two try to contact you for a phone system run the other direction.  In my opinion they are dishonest and deceitful, if you give them a chance they will figure out a way to lie and cheat you.

Your rebuttal is good enough to be sold as a fictional story, the problem is that it is not fiction but malicious lies.  How can you sleep knowing that you not only ripped someone off but then bluntly lied about it?   

  • The ESI system was never presented during the presentation, that is a fact I have witnesses that will attest to that.  And why would I want to upgrade to Allworx if I saw both systems in my office??? I would of seen how cheap the ESI system was first hand.  Can not believe you tried to say that you presented both systems.  I took Bill's word that the ESI system was compatible to Allworx, and its nothing like it.  To this day the ESI phones are sitting in storage collecting dust.
  • When I saw the system and how cheap it was that is when I Asked Bill for the upgrade, not a few days later but the following day when Bill showed up to at our office.
  • Training never even started because I told Bill that I wanted to Upgrade to the Allworx system and had no issue paying the price diference.  I have employees that will testify to that fact that the training was never completed nor was it attempted to be completed, Walter and Bill would not return my calls, they made an effort to avoid me, I never signed a Contract with them either.  If need be we will subpoena Bills Cell Phone records to show what time he made his phone call to you in regards to the Upgrade.  He was not in our office for 10 minutes that day.
  • The $9000.00 for the System and Storage fees call was made a few months ago.  Once more neither Bill nor Walter took my call, I had to leave a message for them.  

The problems started when I discovered that Bill misslead me on the Price Difference, I actually was finished signing the check when I found the initial quote, the Diference in the price was not $2,465.35 that Bill told me, instead it was $1,657.46.

If things were the went the way your rebuttal states the price diference would of been $807.89.  

You claim additional work was done? That is a complete farse, you saw my office and you knew before the installation even started that it was ready for Plug and Use.  I showed you where the phones will go and you gave me your quote based on that.

After I found out that the price magically changed I told Bill that I will not play those games, I honestly thought that they will not try to scam me but will instead revert to the original quote, but I was disappointed, Bill told me it was $2,465.35 and that was it.  It was at that time that I told Bill to take the ESI system out and refund my money, he led me to believe that they would he just needed to make a call, he walked out of my office pretending to be on the phone and disappeared. 

I tried calling you two numerous times and was being pushed off to Voice Mail.  I let you two numerous Voice Mails and you did not attempt to call me back.  Finally when I got Bill on the phone and in my frustration uttered this phrase "Bill do I need to get Lawyers involved" his reply was "Ok now I will not talk to you, talk to our attorney".  He never spoke to me anyway and that was a great excuse to be the lying cowards he was to take the money and run.

Your Company is dishonest, you have a track record of failed businesses, it seems like you change your business name constantly.  Walter, you did not only take advantage of me and my business but you took advantage of a Veteran.  I'm a former US Marine, my company is a Veteran Owned Business, in my 7 years of business never across I ever came across a company that operates with such disregard for ethics.

You know that what you and Bill did was wrong, instead of selling me the other system for the quoted price you two decided to make an extra few dollars by lying to me.  And to think that if I did not find the original quote I would of paid you two as I'm sure others have in the past.

I still have a year to file small claims against you, and just waiting for the storage fees to max out the Maximum allowed in small claims which is $10,000.00

But in the mean time I will do everything in my power to warn the Veteran Community not to do business with you two or any companies you are associated with, I will turn to local news station and ask that an investigation is conducted to see if you two preyed on any other Veteran owned businesses.  I gave you countless opportunities to make things right and you didn't just fail but swept me aside.

To this day neither Walter nor Bill have ever attempted to Communicate with me, they pawned me off to a dead beat attorney and cut off all communication with me after I asked Bill if I should get lawyers involved.  I did not tell them that I was suing them, nor did I ever present them with any papers that stated as such, it was just a convenient way for them to ignore the problem.  Well Boys the problem did not go away.  I did consult a Lawyer and he is the one who told me about the storage fees, so let them go up to $10,000.00 and then we will finally see each other.

In the mean time Please do not Scam anyone else.

Amtel always gives live demonstration so you can see and feel the phone system before your purchase. Mikhail S, both systems were in your office for review before you made your choice. You chose ESI based on price, not capabilities. They were both new systems and work extremely well. The pure IP system carried a higher price tag and with its additional features as explained.  Our recommendation!  You told us “price was your only concern”.

Bill and crew were on site in your office the day and time you requested. You ordered additional cable work ($307) that was done and never paid. Our installation charge was $500. not $30. per man-hour.

After a few days you changed your mind and wanted to go with our original recommendation.  We offered 100% of the money paid towards the IP system less the installation charge that was already earned plus $307.00 additional work still due. You accepted this offer but changed your mind the very next day. I even dropped my price by $200.00 to match your offer to help. You still refused.

For weeks we continued to work with you and your staff with additional training. Nothing seemed to help. After several heated calls from you and the threat of a $9,000.00 law suit for storage fees we stopped taking your calls and directed you to our attorney based on his instructions.

Makhail $3,000 for 10 phones – PBX and VM including install is a great price and you never complained about its operation. Im sorry that we could not work this out but two years later and your still upset. I’ll honor the offer through 2015 and take back the used ESI for a new Allworx.
