I am a former collector for Anderson, Crenshaw and Associates dba Alarm Debt Liquidation Group. I can attest to every other complaint made against this company regarding Protect America. As a collector working for this company and collecting on Protect America accounts, I can say that the amounts we were collecting on we WRONG! The accounts were entered into the system with balances that just didn't match, couldn't possibly match what the customer really owed. It didn't matter if you only had 2 months left on your contract or if you had 6 months left, they still would go after you for $1,000's of dollars that you didn't owe. They were rude, and the ruder the better in that office. They would never ever provide documentation showing proof of the debt and basically collected by instilling fear into customers. They will threaten everything from having your home foreclosed on (which they won't do), to ruining your credit (which they will do) to placing liens on your property. This place is as big a scam as Protect America is! Protect America sold alarm systems that didn't work and wasn't worth 15 cents. The same alarm could probably be purchased at Radio Shack for $40 dollars and could be monitored by a reputable company which Protect America isn't. They sold their junk to old people and poor people. They offered them something free (the alarm system) but didn't tell them they would be trapped by signing the contract for 3yrs to have them monitor the alarm. They would tell these people that they weren't signing a contract, they were signing a work order to have the equipment installed.

If you are being harassed by either of these companies, contact an attorney because I can assure that they are breaking the law, a number of them!

To all the customers that I had spoken to on behalf of this company, I apologize. I didn't get rude but I did try to collect on balances that I knew wasn't owed and for that I'm sorry!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

I HAD the same Problem but got my money BACK

AUTHOR: Charla - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 26, 2006

I had the same EXACT problem the Crenshaw and Associates stated they were going to take my home ruin my credit and get me fired! REALLY said all of that. I recorded the call which is Illegal for them to tell me LIES to collect a debt. I paid BUT only so that I could sue in Justice of the Peace Court which costs 12 dollars. They have to come to your County to support their story. Most likely they will try and offer you 150 bucks for the inconvenience, I denied that. Two days before we were to meet in court I got a call and agreed on a check amount of 3000. I also filed against Protect America for the same amount in which they settled with me for 1500. BUT I did not hire an attorney I did pay 50 dollars for a consult with a consumer attorney for direction. Needless to say I received more money than I had paid. You can contact me at my address I can send you copies of my work I did and wording. 613 West Harding Orange Texas 77632
