I originally purchased an alarm system through Apex alarm which later sold it to Security Associates International. I had many problems with this alarm. It continuously would go off at odd hours of the night flashing "FC" on the panel. The only way to get it to clear off was to turn the alarm on and off. I rarely turned the alarm system on.

I thought this was the way the security company would get you to turn the alarm on to show some activity. I contacted the alarm company many times to get this problem resolved. For an additional charge to me, i could pay them to send someone out, pay for more equipment to fix the problem???? My thought is, I am already paying for a service and it doesnt work, it is malfunctioning and that should not be an addtional charge for me. This goes on for two years.

It came to the point that I could no longer take it and it went off again in the middle of the night. I got some wire cutters out and cut the system out of the wall. Guess what? No alarm went off, no police showed up. I was assured when I signed up with this alarm company if the wires were ever cut that it would signal an alarm. Now I am asking myself, was this equipment ever being monitored or even hooked up correctly. I desided I was no longer going to pay for a system that was not even working.

Months later I am contacted by Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates. Indicating I owed them an amount that I did not owe as the alarm company did not notify them of the last payment made. I was never notified by the alarm company that they had turned this over to ACA.

I got several unprofessional calls from this company threatening to put this on my credit report, file a civil lawsuit, garnish my wages, etc. As I was under "contract". I agreed I was under a contract but so was the alarm company to provide me a service and monitor my home. I feel they did not uphold there agreement as a service. Providing me with faulty equipment and then when the lines are cut, no alarm is set off, no police respond?????

I have asked this company to stop contacting me by phone at my job and home verbally. This has not worked. I have now requested this in writing by mail and fax. If they want to communicate it will need to be in writing as there verbal skills are so threatening and unprofessional.
