I contacted this Mr. Fisher regarding providing some professional services on behalf of my elderly sister on December 5, 2016 and informed him of an issue that we had with the aforementioned vehicle.   The backstory is that  my sister allowed her son to use her vehicle on September 16, 2016, and the son decided that he would not return the vehicle.  After unsuccessfully attempting to search for the vehicle for months, I conducted a Google search and Mr. Fisher’s information was at the top of the search and I contacted him to assist in helping us to identify and recover the vehicle.

When I spoke with this gentleman, he indicated that he could locate the vehicle for a fee of $500.00.  The fee was sent to him and he was  provided with the information that he requested regarding the individual who had taken the vehicle.   He indicated that he was not able to get a towing truck company to confiscate the vehicle if found, therefore, I ensured that the appropriate documentation was provided to a local Dallas area towing company to legally pick the vehicle up if found, and the towing company  information was also provided to Mr. Fisher.

Summary of Facts:

  • Subsequent to December 5, 2016, there was consistent contact from me seeking to obtain status updates from Mr. Fisher on the recovery of the vehicle and not vice versa.

  • February 2, 2017, after becoming dissatisfied with the lack of progress or results, I sent Mr. Fisher a letter (Certified Return Receipt, USPS Mail and Email) and of course, there was no response from him.

  • February 13, 2017, I contacted Mr. Fisher was via telephone subsequent to the February 2, 2017 letter, and there was no real commitment from him regarding getting this issue resolved, nor did he not contact me in any form subsequent to the February 13, 2017 conversation.

  • April 12, 2017, I sent Mr. Fisher another certified letter requesting a refund for professional services not rendered, and as was par for the course, there was no response from him.

The non-delivery of services, the lack of follow up with me, and the lack of evidence of work performed clearly suggests that this is a very blatant case of “Take the money and run”.   I consider this occurrence regarding the non-delivery of professional services from him to be deceptive and this is even more troubling because my sister who sent the funds to me to pay for the professional services is a 75 year old senior citizen who is on a fixed income, and a current cancer patient.    This non-delivery of professional services from Mr. Fisher is unacceptable, and I consider it to be professional misconduct for him to promise to deliver the services requested, receive funds from a client, engage in the non-delivery of services, engage in the lack of follow-up and follow through, and refusal to provide a refund for professional services not delivered.

The role of businesses is to provide a service that is paid for, and if the services cannot or will not be delivered, a form of resolution should be initiated by the business to rectify the matter.   None of this has been done by Mr. Andrew Fisher of Fisher Investigations, and the perceived “Take the Money and Run” method is scandalous and illegal, and should be known publicly so that other consumers will not become victims.

It is truly amazing that a public complaint can provoke a response from this guy.  It has been almost 12 months since I have received any type of response from him (go figure).   All that anyone needs to know who is in need of a private investigator in Texas is to be very sure about who you select and make sure that they will not rip you off.   Keep meticulous notes as I did and the facts will stand.   It must also be noted that this guy was very unresponsive and told numerous fibs just as he has done in his rebuttal (SURPRISE-NOT).    This was a very unpleasant experience and a rip off from a guy who promised to deliver and DIDN'T.

At the the end of the day, he happily took our money and didn't deliver, was not responsiveness and made up the information as he went along.  Stay Away!

The facts

This person hired me and paid me $750 to find her cousin who she claimed had stolen her sister's car. After receiving appropriate details from her, and investing approximately five days in locating the cousin, I found him in the car. I called client and told her the location of the car. I told her she needed to contact the record  company to come and pick up the car. She told me that for $750 I should include the cost of the wrecker. I informed her that that is not the case. That is not our agreement. She became angry and hostile. She made nummerous threats. After a few days, her brother called me who identified himself as a doctor. He stated that  he was personal friends with the Sheriff of Dallas County and that he would have to Sheriff come visit me in person and the sheriff would have a depuuty go ppick up the car.

I told him, whatever works for you is fine. He was polite and cordial and to the point. His sister was argumentative and abusive. Given all the threats, unpleasant acts and other innuendo, I decided instead of suing her for slander, just to let it go. She went on and on and on about how her cousin had now gotten away with the car and she had no idea where it was. Thiss is probably accurate. She had a window of a few hours to obtain a wrecker and pick up the car. Once  she realize that she had made a mistake, and bad judgment was her strong suit,I never hurt her again. One of my children pointed out this complaint against and I  decided to offer a rebuttal. I think it's important to note that after 35 years of being in business, and serving my clients well, this complaint is unfounded and could lead to unpleasant consequences for her. Thank you for listening to my part of the story.
