My son and his friend went to Andy's for the challenge. My son lost after 20 minutes but his friend beat the challenge. The butt head management denied him.

The waitress took his picture, the whole place went wild, then the manager said he didn't see it happen. Didn't see it happen, he cooked the burgers, his waitress took pictures, and he didn't see it happen.

This place is a rip off. Do not go to Andy's. Not until they change management in Mebane. Guess they picked the first high school drop out they could find to run the burger joint. Food was not bad, but give they have got to change managment or they will go down.

Are these people serious?  Angry because your kids could not choke down a meal fast enough to get it free?! Who cares? The complainant said the food is good at a reasonable price. What else do you want in a restaurant?  

I would like to say, I am glad to have another food choice in Mebane.  We are a small town and have few places to choose from. Andy's is something new and I agree the food is good and the prices are very reasonable.   Vomiting kids would not be something that would induce my return... perhaps 86 "The Challenge"?

BTW The frozen Custard is fantastic... it is every bit as good as "Goodberry's" at a fraction the price!

i was the employee that had to clean up the mess that boys made and the rules was told to them more then once by many of the employees including myself : at any point in time that you are in the restaurant and you puke you have pay..we joke around with the boys while they are are eating and tell them not to puke cause they have to pay..

for everyone who reads this and this one person claims that they have a video on you tube that is not the truth i went to you tube and typed in andy's mebane ripoff and found nothing..

thats false advertisement

how do feel now that you put someone you don't even know who are the sweetest people in the world down..and the most pointed out thing on here is that no one else is agreeing with you. and they sticking up for them.. cause they were right and you were wrong and the nicest thing ever is they took their own money out of their pocket and give to you.. to make you stop harassing them.. and this i how you treat them after that.. i think that is most lowest possible thing anyone could ever do....

The person who filed this report is not being truthful. We always explain the rules of the challenge before it can start, and the boys were told of the no-vommiting rule. As stated in the previous rebuttals - the vommiting is what made the boys lose the challenge. Andy's always tries to make the customers happy and give them what they want, that is how we are different from other places. The boys repeatedly came back asking for their money after they had agreed to pay if getting disqualified until one of the owners gave them back their money out of her own pocket to make them stop acting this way towards us and this is how they repay her?


And in the defence of the so-called "butt-head management" they were completely in the right. And they are not high-school drop-outs. They have earned everything they have and are the owners also. They are honest, good, hard working people and do not deserve to be treated this way. And to the people reading this I hope you come in and make the judgement for yourself.

please disregard everything this man has claimed about Andy's of Mebane.

This report is wrong on multiple points.

There is a rule that is applicable to nearly all eating competitions. One may not be declared winner if they vomit during a competition. This rule was stated when the two boys were given their Andy's Challenges. They were told that if they vommited during or after the competition, they would lose and have to pay. Both of the boys who partook in the challange vommited, and lost accordingly. The child who 'beat the challange' also threw up. Twice. The waitstaff may have taken the boys picture, but this was before he threw up. The boy stayed in Andy's for another 30 minutes after he lost the challenge. He then threw up for a second time. It is only just that the boy had to pay for his challange.

The manager of Andy's did not say he didn't see it happen. He said they had to pay because he threw up in the restaraunt. This was within the rules. Both boys needed to pay because they broke the rules.

Another point that the writer of this review forgot to include was that the boys persistantly demanded their money back. One of the managers refused them multiple times. The other manager gave them their money back out of her own pocket. There was no ripoff present. The writer of the report is ignorant to the truth and needs to learn the whole story.

The statements you made toward my boss were slanderous. I personally take offense to the petty insults you thrust at the manager. He is not 'the first high school drop out they could find.' This statement was, for lack of a better word, bull crap. The manager has worked for Andy's for over five years. He is a college graduate, and has earned his position of manager. He does a stellar job and does not deserve the feign names you poke at him.

To the writer of the report I would like to apologize. I am in no way calling you stupid, I am merely stating that you are wrong. Which is true. I was working that night and I saw the whole thing. I swear that the facts I stated are true and the arguement you present is wrong.

Please disregard the slanderous report filed against Andy's of Mebane. The restaurant is not a ripoff and the author of the report is wrong.

The writer fails to mention important information - Both boys actually lost the Challenge by throwing up their meal. The second boy, because his "holding back" from throwing up was a little over the time limit was later given credit for the Challenge - which was SUPPORTED by the store manager. Also not mentioned is who CLEANS THE MESS created by the boys. Neither the boys or the parent offered to assist the staff. Andy's is a wonderful organization with many high principles including the Andy's Foundation dedicated to helping kids through charities and they also train young entrepreneurs in owning their own business - still the American Dream. The managers here are actually owners. They are highly motivated to provide excellent service and food quality to their Mebane community. There are good customers and bad - the Challenge report highlighted a self-oriented bad customer.
