I joined the Animal Research Foundation in 2005 and registered all my Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs through the A.R.F. Registry. In the fall of 2007 and winter of 2007-08 Mr. Al Walker made policy changes and forced all breeders involved to abide by new and unethical policies that he wrote in three papers back books that he sent to all Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog breeders by certified mail. In addition, he sent out another booklet about a White English Bulldog Breeder and told lies about this person to discredit his kennel.

His booklets not only stated that he changed the standard of the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog at this time; he also hid behind religious reasons. He wrote the books and said things like:" THOU SHALL NOT" and more religious tinted material. The main tasks of a registry are objectivity and provide the public with information and pedigrees. We found out that his information was untrue, not objective, and some of his pedigrees falsified.
We also found out that three Breeders on his site bred their Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs with American Bulldog-, which is not part of the original gene pool of the Alapaha. Mr. Walker from the ARF did not notify the public of this- he registered the puppies as full bred Alapaha's.

In addition, Mr. Al Walker dictated what we can name our dogs and what we can post on our website. We were no longer allowed to join other clubs or other registries or else we would be kicked out of the A.R.F and our membership would be terminated.

These policies also stated that we would have to work with other breeders in the program even if we had a dislike for the breeders and that if we were unwilling to work with those breeders we would be forced out of the program as well.

I wrote an email stating that I could not live by the new rules and the dishonesty in the registry and that I refused to change my website. Even though I paid for a life long membership, which cost me over $1000.00 - Mr. Walker forced us out of the registry because we refused to take some general information about the breed of our website.

Mr. Walker has kicked out numerous breeders in recent months because they did not abide by the un-ethical standards of the A.R.F. My grievance is the first of this kind but I can guarantee their will be many more complaints to follow as other breeders have taken notice of how they have been mistreated.
