Anne Leedom ALPR Anne Leedom PR ALPR scammed me out of $8000 and cost me several months of writing and prep work that she did absolutely nothing with. Toward the end of our contract together, as soon as she realized I was not continuing on and was unhappy with her performance, she virtually disappeared. California

Anne Leedom poses as an expert media public relations person. She is nothing of the sort. She is a scam artist. As soon as you sign her agreement she needs to be chased. She insisted that the holidays would have no bearing on her availability and performance and reluctantly I signed on on Nov 15, 2017. She did nothing substantial until March. By the end of April, which was 5 months in...a month before the end of our agreement she was just getting my first article live. She took zero responsibility and blamed it on editors. If you think it takes editors 3 or 4 months to post articles...think again.

She had zero respect for me when I inquired about things and had very poor communication skills. She is unavailable by phone. Ever. She doesn't even give you her number. She is unavailable on Mondays and Fridays by e-mail as she takes long weekends off from Thursday evenings till Mondays. And Holidays like Presidents Day, Earth Day, Ground Hog day...yep. She takes those days off too. If you are lucky, she will respond from Tues-Thursday afternoons. If you send anything at all like articles or segments that you worked hard on over the weekend, she claims that she doesn't receive it and you have to resend everything because all of her weekend e-mail get lost in spam.

I asked her...how can you pitch me to TV producers if you haven't read my book or offered to read my book? She said...Oh yeah. Ok, send me a book. (Like she was doing me a favor.) This woman seems to have no respect for the people that pay her enormous amounts of money for services and she renders half of the services she promises. She claims to have traditional TV shows in her network and offers you a presentation with a press release and press kit. But after you give her your money, she says her approach is only "conversational" and she rides you til the end. She gives you no schedule or records of her media outreach or traditional TV media outreach. She is a fraud and a scam. All I can say is that karma never loses an address. Do NOT hire this person or any alias names that she uses. Anne Leedom is a rip off and scam artist.

Response to client complaint

AUTHOR: - (United States)

To clarify Ms. Sander’s comments, Al-PR most certainly guarantees its online campaigns. We can provide a copy of the contract and reports of all online placements being made as agreed. TV is not guaranteed and that was clearly stated in all communications and agreements. Ms. Sander’s was billed in portions over months, which clarified she had no complaints. Ms. Sander’s was provided the opportunity to continue working with our agency and never confirmed her plans. She left us hanging with emails (we can provide) stating she was very happy, reviewing the final upcoming placements and would get back to us. She never did. She then appeared here. A sad, disturbing trend of how people use the Internet in the worst ways. We provided all placements per our contract, and we were available at all hours of the day and night, as emails document. Ms. Sanders seems to be disgruntled due to her poor reception for the TV outlets we pitched and the poor reception in sales for her online placements as well as radio, given her Amazon numbers. Publicists can not control how people view a client’s work. Platforms take years to build. Our clients are typically concerned with helping people, not ROI. Those are the clients that are most successful in every way and we are very proud to be part of their efforts to truly help people... not just make money. We have worked with hundreds of client’s, many of whom provided testimonials for our website. No company can satisfy every client, sadly. We do have full documentation to support our completing the agreement and continue to be disappointed in Ms. Sander’s unprofessional attempt to defame our agency by using this venue to lie. All guarantees were met. Placements were completed as agreed, and we can provide the contract and full documentation, as well as editors responses to her work and her comments here, upon request.

ROI's, Guarantees, Satisfaction

AUTHOR: Lily - (United States)

I am not disgruntled in the least. My reports are not to judge Anne Leedom's character or skew someone's position about Anne Leedom's character. The only intent of my report to the public is to warn my fellow sisters out there who are good natured and seeking possible work with publicists. ROI: If she couldn't guarantee my ROI, then she should not have verbalized that during her pitch. Grossly unprofessional and misleading. Guarantees: At the same time I hired another PR expert for Radio and went on an international Radio Tour. She guaranteed me 30 Radio appearances within 6 months. She also put it in writing. Yes, a PR person or anyone for that matter can guarantee what they service or sell to another. That is what sets apart the good from the extraordinary. Not only did my Radio PR person meet her guarantee, but we exceeded that goal working together (as it should be) and I had 47 radio appearances which are still unfolding into more opportunities and exposure. Satisfaction: I find it impossible to believe that Anne Leedom really had the impression that I was happy toward the end. If this were true, then she wouldn't have disappeared as she did. No e-mails. There was no follow-up. No more pitching. Nothing. Whats more...there was NO thank you e-mail for the opportunity to serve me. If that isn't a huge red flag to run the other way, for anyone seeking feedback from anyone's services rendered...I don't know what is.

I won't spend my time anymore on this. Be warned, everyone. And I seriously hope Anne Leedom reflects on her approach, her attitude, and her ABSENCE of gratitude. $8000 and no thank you. Astounding.

Response to Client Complaint

AUTHOR: Anne - (United States)

Ms. Sanders is clearly are very disgruntled and I am sorry to hear this. I find it extremely unprofessional that she did not reach out to me first. Her final emails to me suggested she was happy and looking for her final placements to go live. I can provide those to any interested parties.

We reached out to her due to the fact that we had editors interested in her expertise. Contrary to her comments, many of our sites are not open to contributors withouot going through a Publicist. We are bringing branding, editorial formatting and content related support to the sites, making us very valuable to them.

**** If she could have achieved this exposure on her own, I assume she never would have hired a publcist. NEVER is PR a guarantee of ROI. No publicist can gurantee how well the public will respond to an expert, actor, singer, or product.

To gain the exposure and credibility we provided and not see sales is uncommon with our clients. Just ask Dr. Alan Greene, Dr. Michele Borba. Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Dr. Laura Markham and hundreds of other clients who understood that branding and PR over TIME creates a wonderful and powerful platform to build your business and to help people. They do not start public hangings online simply because a few months didn't get them the ROI they were hoping to see.

We receive complaints over two issues...

1. The client did not become an overnight success. They do need to understand growing an expert platform takes time.

2. They change their mind for no fault on our part and demand refunds, which we do not provide when we have a contract and have done nothing wrong. People have demanded a refund to redo their house!

I provide the highest level of accountablity in the field of PR.

We guarantee our placements and work with extremely credible and supportive websites.

Many clients are VERY well received and have TV and other amazing opportunities coming to them and that is what PR creates. A platform.

We are not a sales agency. We are here to provide a national platform for clients to promote their work. How that work is received is not something  we have any control over, any more than Oprah does. Not every book actually sold truckloads that she promoted.

So again, I am sorry Ms. Sanders is disgrunteled. I did exactly what the contract stated. I can provide a copy to any interested party.

I can show HUNDREDS of emails at crazy hours accomodating Ms. Sander's requests for updates and feedback.

She received all the placements she requested which she did approve, including Parentingbookmark.com. I can document every aspect of my campaign and in spite of her frustration she didn't receive financial gain after a few months of exposure and wasn't interested in building her platform over time, I consider her campaign a great success. I do wish her well and hope this concludes her need to discuss the issue publicly.

Anne Leedom's rebuttal

AUTHOR: Lily - (United States)

This is to Anne Leedom's "client" that wrote a nice report for the benefit of Anne Leedom's rebuttal:

I am an author, and spiritual coach, and life coach too. One of the top 15 in NYC...before I encountered and hired Anne Leedom. That doesn't tell readers anything about Anne Leedom's ability and delivery of services.

Where in the scenario of your work and titles do you accredit to Anne Leedom? And a contributor is exactly that. A contributor. You don't need to pay someone to contribute your work if you are good at what you do. Contribution is great exposure as a writer, but again, you can contribute your work on your own without paying someone to do it.

A better testimony to my case in point would be to show how much you are currently receiving on your ROI from the cost of her services.

Rebuttal to Anne Leedom's aka Sandy Lane's response.

AUTHOR: Lily - (United States)

Just a quick response to Anne Leedom (AKA Sandy Lane and Net Connect Publicity).

I am not sure why she says, "Sadly, I was not well received." I was very well received. So I am not sure why she feels the need to lie, as I did not hire her to promote my book.

It's a very simple complaint. Her employee targeted and solicited me. Her employee set up a phone conversation between us. She said she would get my work (articles) on 10 credible sites or more, and she also claimed that she had traditional TV producers in her network and would put a presentation together that included a press kit, and pitch me to those her network.

The bottom line: I was very well received. Regardless of her passive aggressive belittling. I am not here for her approval. I am only here to help others avoid a similar experience. Just as Anne Leedom AKA Sandy Lane shows, my articles were well received and in 10 sites. Note: She is Editor in Chief of one of the 10 sites, so I am not sure that counts as an effort in scouting sites. But my point is this...every site she claims to get you that she leads you to believe is unattainable without her services is either the site she is Editor in Chief (Parentingbookmark.com) or other sites that you DO NOT HAVE TO PAY anyone to get into. She basically charged me $8000 to do what I could have done myself, had I known. She took advantage of my kindness and ignorance.

Additionally, she did not deliver anything that she promised in the area of traditional TV presentations. When I began to question her and ask her for a record of who she has presented and how, she abruptly changed her tone in the most irate e-mails that I could describe as short, unkind, highly unprofessional, and childish. I did not pay a child $8000.00 for an attitude and out in out non-delivery of service.

I quote, "$8.000.00 is a lot of money. Will I get my ROI?" She replied. "Yes!" She did not deliver.

Just so we are all clear: A contributor is exactly that. A contributor. No pay. So where is the ROI after  6 months? She has and can show zero records of her presentations to TV Producers. Near the end of my 6-month agreement, all Anne Leedom contacted me for was to see if I was continuing on with her (for what I don't know) or to sell me something different.  ie: A book trailer for  $500. I had to inform her that I already had a great book trailer. Had she viewed my website as you might expect someone who got paid $8,000.00 to do so, she would have seen the book trailer all over my website.

Also, she says in rebuttal that she doesn't need to read my book because she was only getting my writing on sites. Exactly my point! She lied. She knew specifically that I hired her because of the traditional TV producer connections she "claimed" were in her network. The digital work was a "process" as she put it before the TV producers. But those presentations were never done. This just wasn't the case, and unfortunately, I learned a very expensive lesson.

My only intent here is to warn content writers and authors like myself who want to get exposure, to DO IT ON YOUR OWN, or find a legitimate and professional PR person. Don't get scammed by PR people like Anne Leedom. If you choose the route of a PR person, be certain you have a solid contract that states exactly what they discussed and what was promised verbally, and get it guarenteed in writing. bring your contract to an attorney.

I am grateful that my work is well received, which is why I learned that I didn't have to spend $8,000.00 in order to share my love, inspiration, and insight into the world.

Sending love no matter what.

Professional, great communication and fast results! Loved AL-PR

AUTHOR: Jessica - (United States)

Anne Leedom built a media expert platform for me in just a few months! She quadrupled the number of sites I was published and promoted on as an expert contributor before working with them.

I now have a national platform that is helping me leverage my writing, speaking, and coaching into a much broader base. Anne is consistently professional and answers questions in a very timely manner.

She have also taken the time to relate to me on a personal level, reaching out to me to ask about my son when he had medical issues. Working with AL-PR has been a pleasure and well worth the investment to build my business!

Fraudulent Complaint

AUTHOR: Anne - (United States)

I am surprised this information was allowed to post from the reviewer, as it is clearly in violation of the standards of content posted from this site. They state they do not allow defamatory, illegal or fraudulent content. This content in thei review is all of these and I can provide documentation if requested.

Publicists are often held accountable for how the media and the public responds to a client. This is simply not realistic, as we can not control how people react. Thus we rely on campaign parameters, all of which were met.

Sadly, this is a case of an author. according to her stated start date and fees in her review, identified as Lily Sanders, who had an intriguing story of abuse to tell, but now uses abuse to attempt to defame and bully my company, and myself, as her work was not responded to in the way she had hoped.

Her claims are completely frudulent and libelous., as my documentation will show. I took on only one client with this fee in November, 2017 and Ms. Sanders did sign up on Nov 15, 2017 for an $8000 campaign as her review states.

I am grateful  for her comments however, as it this will clarify expectations for future clients who do review this information.

I will respond to each claim.

1. Communication: I can provide documentation on the many calls and emails that transprired between myself, my team and Ms. Sanders. I can document her ongoing stated saitisfaction for each placement, all of which occured as agreed. (see below) This is completely false information in her review, givnen that I have dozens of emails from me to Ms. Sanders updating her on her campaign, as well as several phone calls, all documented.

The holidays had no bearing on her campaign placements, but of course editors do close down over major holidays for several days. Ms.Sanders did state she was unhappy with the communication, however her ongoing documented attempts to contact me at 11:00 pm PDT (she is EDT) were complety unrealsitic and unprofessional, as were her attempts to schedule calls without prior notice or taking my schedule into account. I did respond when I could, however I can not be held to these kinds of expectations and hours.

Holidays never affected her work being published as agreed, as I had previosuly scheduled her into the calanders of many major media outlets. She is well aware of that fact, as it was provided to her in writing from the start. I was available for scheduled calls, as documented, and she most certainly had my number. I have documentation of her calling me on several occasions. I am typically not available for calls without an appointment.

My communication parameters are clearly stated in the agreement she signed.

2. Turnaround for Placements: We had an 8 month agreement. I can't provide placement until I have final content, which took many months to recieve in its final form, as her work needed many revisions. We did also make those requirements clear from the start in writing. Major media do have lead times, which most seasoned experts know. Her first placement was live within 2 weeks of sending it out. Again, these are completely false statements on her end.

3. Availablity: I work 6 days a week, with Monday - Thursday reserved for client interaction, Friday for admin with my staff, and weekends publishing a national website, other projects I am working on, family time and God. I am a single mom, raised 2 chidlren alone without daycare or child support and can't even remenber what a 'weekend off' would look like. She is again making claims that have no basis in the truth.

My contract with Ms. Sanders clearly states I am an independant contractor. All term of the agreement were met and contact was always available Monday - Thursday with calls scheduled in advance (24 - 48 hours) as my documentation shows. I take major holidays off, as I do have a family. Ms. Sanders seemed to need an employee and I clarified repeatedly I am not an employee in regards to my availablity. 500+ clients have always respected that for more than 19 years.

4. Client Materials: I did read her book, which is not required to present her to our media outlets, as we use client's content, not their books to promote their work. Editors do not read most of my client's books. This is a content/article and segment driven media outreach, and that is clearly stated in the initial proposal, agreement and strategy doumentation.

5. Confidential Resources: We do not provide contacts for our media outlets. I did review which outlets we were targeting, which I can also provide, based on our documentation.

Sadly, Ms. Sanders was not well received. Her content needed a great deal of work, which we provided. It is heartbreaking to me when a client does not recieve the public response they are hoping for.  I provide in-depth written and verbal format and strategies for all content needs and if someone refuses to take my guidance, there is nothing I can do.

Ms. Sanders never once expressed her profound frustration as stated in her review, beyond my not being available for phone calls on her schedule. Calls do need to be mutually agreed upon within the schedule each campaign provides. She instead reverted to this highy unethical tactic and wouldn't even disclose her name. However, her stated start date and fee in her review do specify who the client is, allowing me to respond in full.

My attempts to discuss with her directly following this review have gone unresponded.

Her content was not well recieved and she does not posees the media crediblity and materials to attract the attention of the shows we pursued. We did provide a press kit, however it as clearly stated we do not use press kits in our outreach. Our contact is one on one with media outlets who actuall talk to us.

Our main focus was online media, as her contract stated. Her placements were made as agreed and her organic SEO was very high. She reached millions in her campaign and publicists can not be blamed for what did or did not happen as a result of that exposure.

Seasoned expeerts realize that. This is an attempt to bully, transfer balme and Ms. Sanders, according to her own book, which I most certainly did read, suffered from serious trauma issues. It is upsetting to not be received as one hoped.

I was hired to positon her on several major websites that met with her approval, which I did to her stated satisfaction. Both the live links below and the ongoing emails stating her satisfation at each placement confirm I have done nothing wrong.

She attempted to change the terms of the contract regarding communication, showed no respect for my office hours, was not responsive to content guidelines and is apparently not happy with how she was received. Howver, I met the agreement terms in full, as documentation shows.

I am very saddened to hear she is so frustrated, and even more distressed this is how she chose to channel her frustrations at how her work was received. I do hope this clarifies expectations for other experts who are considering a madia campaign. I speak for any publicists who are blamed, harrassed or harmed for how the public and the media respond to published work.

Dr. Michele Borba

Dr. Jerry Wichman

Dr. Laura Schlessinger

Dr. Alan Greene

....and hundreds of other authors, experts and coaches who utilized our services to position their brand and increase thier platform have all ben extremely happy with their results (placements) and my level of professionalism. It is disheartening when a client is unhappy.

However, this is such a sad and growing trend to use the Internet malicously to attempt to hurt someone. Its the modern coutroom without the legal fees. If I am in any way not providing services as agreed I am more than happy to remedy that situation.

However, this is clearly a brutal attempt to casue me harm for no reason other than I refused to conform to communication schedules that were not realistic and that I could not control the reactions of the media and the public.

I can provide docmuentation for all her claims, prooving them fruadulent. I can only hope the jury of my peers sees the actual facts, asks for more infiormation from me if needed, respects the 19 years of experience I have as an Internet Publicist and the 500+ cleints who have worked with me and are happy with my servcies, and understands that some people just need to feel powerful in a situation they feel powerless. That is the heart of a bully.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I am grateful to Miss Sanders and I genuinely enjoyed working wth her. I have provided the proof of placements below. I will take her comments to heart and insure future clients are very clear on expectations, as I do not want anyone to have bad feelings when I CAN do something about that. When I can't...sadly, I have to just say I wish you well and do my best moving forward.
