This company's motto is " The lady with a team you can trust." Yeah right this lady and her team intentionally tried to deceive me by installing a 3 ton HVAC unit when they knew that I had been quoted for and was being charged for a 3.5 ton.

When this ladies "Team" showed up at my house on installation day the invoice was for a 3 ton system for $3798. I showed one of the "Team" members my proposal which was for a 3.5 ton unit for $3498. Then, he made some phone calls and he came back in and said that everything was straightened out and that I would get the 3.5 ton unit for $3498 as quoted.

The "Team" members never left so I assumed they had another unit in the truck that was 3.5 tons therefore they did not need to leave to get the correct system. However, at the end of the day when the "Team" member gave me the paperwork for my newly installed system the serial number was for a 3 ton unit.

The "Team" seemed pretty surprised when I asked why the serial number ended in 36 and not 42 if a 3.5 ton unit was installed. His response was that he was told that it was a 3.5 ton unit so as far he knows it was. But, I could see in his face that he knew he was caught.

If you do not know how to read unit serial numbers you can not tell what size your HVAC unit is. The information booklets have model numbers only so that they can be used for any size unit.

Most people do not know how to determine HVAC unit sizes. This company has probably done this SCAM countless times in the past without getting caught and will probably continue to do so.

The smaller unit will not be as effecient as the larger unit depending on the home size but it's hard to miss what you never had. By the time the unit goes out or has problems 10-15 years later most likely the owners will have sold the home and moved on or even if they're still there they still won't think to check the size.

My unit was replaced the next day. But like I said there is NO WAY this was an accident. These people knew what size unit they brought out and even after the error paperwork error was corrected with a phone call they continued to install the smaller unit. AND with 3 HVAC techs out there you'd think one of them knows how to read serial numbers.

I don't know where your information comes from, but the serial number does not readily give the unit tonnage. The users or installers guide will have a model number starting with something like 373lav036 or fb4anf036 or 10gcs048. The serial number usually give month, day, line, production plant, or other unique information which ties to there records with tonnage. You generally have to call them for that information. Model gives the tonnage for most brands. I apologize for your problem and wish you best of luck, however stop giving false information to other consumers. You also have rights that will help you with your situation if it is really a problem. Also look before you sign,,,, and pay!

The facts.

Lets set a few things straight. First of all the salesman showed up at the homeowners house and gave the homeowner two quotes on two proposals. The homeowner had an existing 3ton system that heated and cooled the house correctly. The salesman offered the homeowner a 3ton system and a 3.5ton system due to the homeowner asking questions about a bigger unit. The homeowner signed and accepted both proposals and informed the salesman that the 3.5ton was what they wanted. The salesman handed in the 3ton system proposal and from there the process of installation started. The crew that installed the job was under the impression that everything was ok since they obviously had a proposal and paper work stating a 3ton was being installed. They installed it, started it and were informed before they left the job that the unit was the wrong size.

From there we received a call from the homeowner accusing us of trying to take advantage of them by installing the wrong unit. We then told the homeowner that it was a mistake and that we would be happy to fix it the next morning by installing the correct size system that she had asked for. The homeowner then informed us they would not pay the 3.5ton price but would only pay the 3ton price. As you can see we did everything we could to make this right and was only taken advantage of by the homeowner for our mistake. We do apologize to the homeowner for any inconvenience that we may have caused. We would also like to point out that we stand behind our work 100% and will fix any wrongs, which may occur. A quick call to the Huntsville inspection department will confirm our reputation and professional workmanship. Please feel free to contact us with questions and check us out on the better business bureau as well.

Thank you.
