ANP transcriptions is absolutely horrific in the way it handles it's business and treats it's contractors. Extremely unprofessional when it comes to handling money disputes or any disputes for that matter as well as their one sided use of their so called contract.
RED FLAGS for anyone considering working for this company:
1. They will NEVER pay you on time.
They only pay you when they feel like it which leads me to believe they either just don't have the available income to keep up with it's contractors or they just dislike paying their contractors...either way they will tell you anything to keep you from EVER receiving a proper check on time...ie, Jewish holiday, lost in the mail, their office dog ate it ect...By the way they are still about 3 months behind on everything they owe us, we're contemplating our next step which could very well be legal action if it has to be.
2. Their contract is ONLY there to benefit them.
They DO NOT follow their own contract, BUT, they will flaunt it regularly against you for a variety of different reasons. They will sometime make things up and claim that they are in the contract when they are clearly not. Sometimes it's a little bit of both, meaning they stretch things or give you inaccurate percentages in hopes that you really haven't read the contract and will just take their word for it...we called them out on this and after a quite lengthy battle they did finally agree that we were right but claimed that they have a different contract as well and thought we had signed that particular one...The old "oh, you must have signed the OTHER contract" routine.
3. Extremely unprofessional
As briefly as possible, when you work for a normal and upstanding company, as I and my wife do as this was a side job for a little extra money, disputes are handled in a way that when all is said and done both party's can express themselves and come to a conclusion. Larry on the other hand has a very short fuse when it comes to a contractors unhappiness with not being paid on time, he doesn't seem to understand the whole concept of people working for a paycheck and is incapable of handling these issues in a way that slightly resembles an adult doing business.
Bottom line is Larry likes to fight and when Larry fights Larry fights dirty. Your money that he owes you is not safe in a fight with Larry, if you have a relative that also works there...well, that poor souls job is not safe because Larry fights dirty.
We've also dealt with Al, he's not as outspoken as Larry and maybe a bit more educated but he's equally as unethical. He's appears to be also of the belief that the people doing the work don't really want the money and that his contractors should be happy with receiving their checks weeks or months after they were supposed to get them.
I haven't completely looked past the idea that this behavior may be deliberate in an attempt to further delay paying the contractor...either way it's an unacceptable way to treat another human being.
I could go on for pages but to sum it up this company is covered in red flags, they are most definitely a rip-off and if you or a friend is now or ever considering working for ANP transcriptions do yourself a favor and find something else, you'll be glad you did.
