Anthem College Kansas City Complete Rip-Off Kansas City, Missouri

I was completely disgusted with High Tech Institute's (now Anthem College) Medical Billing and Coding program.  The diploma cost me $12,750, and the school does not help whatsoever in trying to place its graduates into companies.  In fact, the school has no relationship with any organization and does not offer any assistance in helping a graduate land a position upon graduation. 

Their idea of help is providing you a list of Craigslist and Careerbuilder jobs which I can do on my own.  I am now paying off my education as I took student loans to finance this so-called education, and cannot land any position for which I sought my education.  I would not recommend this school at all, as once they sign you up and have your money, there is no concerted effort to try to help you upon graduation. 

They are a phony for-profit school, and you would be better served elsewhere by going to a public school that offers the same education curriculum.  What upsets me as well is that during the interview process when I was evaluating schools for this type of program, I was told that High Tech Institute had a great reputation with landing graduates jobs as well as having numerous relationships with potential hiring companies.  This was not true, and I had to do my research on my own.

 Also, they don't tell you is that many hiring companies require at least 3 years of work experience, and so there are many barriers to the Medical Billing and Coding profession as well.  Even if you do land a position in Medical Billing and Coding, the jobs usually pay $10-15 per hour, which does not help when you are trying to pay off your student loans in addition to your other normal cost of living bills.  Once I graduated, the school has made no attempt to follow up and help with my career placement.  I do not recommend this school at all.
