Anthem Institute NYC Anthem Institute NYC is a ripoff Internet

I graduated in Graphic & Animation Design course from Anthem Institute, NYC in Oct 2008. It was 20 months course and the fee was $17k+. I got 4k of Govt. grant and the remaining money I took it as a loan which I started paying as soon as I joined. The 20 months experience was awful. The atmosphere was not so good. Most the instructors were very average. By the time I graduated, I went to them for job assistance as it was promised to me during my admission that they will get me a job after the completion of the course. I went to them so many time but they never helped me. They have only one answer that economy is bad and they can't help me. I got my degree in Nov 2008. Before getting my degree I have to make my bills and other stuff clear. I did that. Come Jan 2009, I got a call from Anthem Institute main office which I think is in Arizona that I owe them $2500 which I need start to pay in parts in 20 days time otherwise they will send my case to collection agency. They girl told me that I have to start paying something by Jan 31st 2009. I asked her from where this money came. My bills were clear. She says they didn't get paid last $2500 from the loan company. Which was not my fault because my loans were passed in the beginning of the course and I was paying every month the minimum amount. She said pay us, I told her I don't have a job and I don't have money and plus you guys never helped in getting a job. She then start asking me how come I am paying my telephone bill or rent (which was none of her business). She was very rude. She was talking to me like a collection guys. After week or so of her call I got a call from collection agency (Pinnacle Financial) that I have to pay $2500 ASAP. I asked the guy how come he called me before Jan 31st. He said school has given the case to them.

I went back to school and asked them, the girl (Anita Maharaj) in financial department said that it's their fault and everything has been fixed and the collection people will not call me. I asked her can she give me that in written. She said yes and she gave me a print out. Here comes another girl (her co-worker). She comes in the middle took that print out from her hand and tear it apart and throw them in the trash and told me that my case is in her hand now and she will help me. She told me almost same thing what Anita said. She said that very next day she will or someone will call me and fixed it. That next day never came and collection agency calls were coming every day in the morning. I called school so many times but no one picked up the phone. I left voice messages but still no one responded.

I was out of the country for couple of months in between. When I came back in May 2009, collections guys called me back. I called school, at last I got someone on the line. The guy told me he can't do anything so I have to call main office. I called main office they say they can't  do anything so I have to request collection agency to send back the case to the school. What a crap! School can send the case to collections but they can't take it back. The collections says that they can't send it back to school because it's with them now.

I contacted few people then how to get rid of this. I found someone and got rid of collection agency guys. But I had to spent few dollars for that and plus I went through so much mental stress because of this Anthem.

I don't know if anyone would help me to file a case against them for ripping of so many students like me. I don't feel like paying them a penny now which I have to pay every month.

Never take admission in Anthem Institute. They are bunch of losers and liars. They will rip you off.
