As many of you, I had the pop-ups stating I had 42 infectious viruses, my pc is unsafe, all the trojans were listed, etc. I could not get to my emails. I immediately upgraded my pc with a legitimate anti-virus and when it scanned my computer it only found 2 things that were wrong and no trojans. I called them and told them there anti-virus did not pick up the 42 Trojans. Those pop-ups from antivirus 2008 continued and I could not get to my emails. I signed up for the antivirus 2008, and was my card was swiped for $109.85. I paid for DECEPTION!

I spent several minutes waiting to talk with someone @ Antivirus2008, which I thought was a direct number. Then with a 3 minute wait time left, an automated message came on and said they were not able to take the call b/c of high volume, but the voicemail box was full and to call back. I sent numerous emails. Called my credit card company to have that transaction stopped. They told me they have had other people call them about this company. Here is the phone number my credit card company gave me which is legitimate. 1-626-585-1814 This is the number for The Corporate Office of 2000Charge.com. (this is how it appears on your statement). I talked with an actual person and they reversed my charges without hesitation, then sent me an email confirmation.

I asked them if they had the number for Antivirus 2008 directly, they gave me 1-800-467-1077. That is what Antivirus gave them, but it is a number for jettisintl.com. A third party billing company.

After the numerous emails, (to support@billingware.net) I did receive an email from a guy named Nick and this is what it said:

"Thank you for contacting Antivirus2008 Customer Support Center.
My name is Nick, and I am responding to your recent email.

I apologize for the problems you experienced contacting Antivirus2008 Customer Support by phone. We regret that sometimes our phone support staff receives numerous subscriber calls, and you might encounter a long wait time. Although we cannot always prevent such occurrences, we work with the involved parties to help resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Please, be informed that the issue was escalated to voice support department. So one of our representatives will call you and assist on problem resolving. Please do not hesitate to mail us back should you require any information or help.

Thank you Best regards, Nick, Antivirus2008 Customer Support Center"

I sent an email wanting to know how to remove the icon and program Antivirus2008 from my computer, b/c when I tried to remove it it DENIED me the capability of doing that. I haven't received any response to it yet.

I found this website to remove it.

http://www.removal-instructions.com/removeAntivirus2008.html

This whole ordeal wasted about 6-8 hours of time. Plus a day without being able to email.

I hope this helps. I have over 3000 email addresses in my address book and they will be emailed about this company. I am sure those people will email their address books as well. I encourage you to do the same.

I good free option would be to use programs called "Spybot Search and destroy" "AVG antivirus" free version( there's a for sale version with more options). These programs should be able remove Antivirus 2008.

Removal instruction?

After reading your report, which is EXACTLY what is going on with me, of course I jumped right onto the website you mentioned. (for removal) Of course after the "Free Scan" I was prompted to pay for the full service if I wanted to actually remove all 292 viruses and infected files. No..please...I don't want to remove any viruses, I was just looking to see if they're there. I'm not going to fall for that again! I wonder if you and the other "spyware removal company" are not in this together. You pay to get in but if you want out, you have to pay to do that to.It's kind of like the roach motel......you can check in but you can't checkout. There's got to be a legitimate and free way to remove this program.
Any other ideas?
Thanks anyway,
A really mad mom
