Antonis Vayianos Promachonas Real Estate Deposit given for house purchace stolen by real estate agent Nicosia Nationwide

This real estate agent (Antonis Vayianos) operates in Cyprus and has offices in Larnaca and Nicosia under the name Promachonas Real Estate.

I was interested in buying a house in Cyprus and Mr. Vayianos found one I liked. He told me that for closing the deal I had to write a check to give to the current house owner. Mr. Vayianos gave me a receipt clearly stating that the money was for the purchase of a specific house belonging to the specific owner.

Later on Mr Vayianos told me that the owner decided to sell the house to another buyer. I asked for my deposit back but he kept finding excuses for not returning the full amount. For more than six months now he is holding a portion of my money and shows no intention to return it. He even gave me checks that were returned due to insuffucient funds in the bank account.

The case is now with the lawyer and a report is being prepaired for the local real estate association, but it may take months for the case to be decided.
