Antwerpen Hyundai Of Columbia WARNING: NEVER BUY EXTRAS WHEN BUYING USED FROM THESE CROOKS!!! Clarksville, Maryland

My son & I purchased a used Hyundai from Antwerpen in September 2008.  During the sale, it was suggested that we purchase 'GAP' insurance.  This was suggested for, in the event of a total loss accident, the GAP policy would cover what the normal insurance didn't.  The $750 dollars that was spent on this policy seemed like a no-brainer, so we took it.  In September of 2009, my son totalled the car.  When it came time for the car to be paid off, the GAP only covered half of what was owed on the car loan.  I complained to Antwerpen.  They said that the GAP policy only covers 120 percent of the blue book value of the car at the time the car is purchased.  With this all said & done, had he totalled it on the day he got it, the GAP would have fell short!!!  So who's at fault here?  Our fault for going to Antwerpen?  Antwerpen overpricing the car?  Antwerpen selling insurance policies from fly-by-night outfits?  Who's to blame?  Nevertheless, we paid $750 dollars for them to pay out a little (and very little) over a thousand dollars.  Good money sense?  Not on your life.  I'm still fighting this thing.  For those of you local to Baltimore & Washington, I'm sure that you've seen Jack Antwerpen's stupid little "Jack says Yes!" commercials.  With my son, Jack said 'maybe -- with me as a cosigner'. 

It's time idiots like this be stopped from hooking the american public with extras that drain your wallet & don't perform as expected.
