A $1 charge first appeared on my credit card statement three months ago. The second month, they charged me $14.95. I figured it was just a purchase that I forgot about at that time. Finally, this month, when I was re-billed from the same company, I got to wondering where this charge was coming from.
I did a google search and found that others had fallen victim to the same scam. I tried calling the 1-800 number listed on the credit card statement...but the number wasn't working. So I called my credit card company, canceled my card and initiated an investigation. Subsequently I have found the company's "website" which lacks contact information and looks as though it were designed by a three-year-old.
Has anyone else fallen victim to this? I'm trying to figure out how they got my credit card number in the first place...

I was a victim also. I had a charge of $1.oo the first month and $14.95 for the next two months untill I realized I had not authorized this.I found a working phone number for you to use. The affiliat company to this galleria usa is www.privacymatters.com and the phone number for them is 1-800-436-0817. I called them and talked to a rep. she said she would cancel my account and refund the current months charges of $14.95. I just called today so I haven't received my refund as of yet. They said that it would be on my next statement. I did not get all my money back but the account was canceled with the promise of one month refund.I was told the way they got my number was through a banner ad for a K-mart gift cert. They offered me a $25.00 gift cert. for K-mart and I inadvertantly gave them my info.I just hope this helps someone else get their money back.Please pass this info on to the others who need it. Thank You. Keep up the good work!!!!!!
