A 9.95 charge to AP9*homeworksplus has appeared on my credit card statement. I contacted the credit card company immediately but they were not able to tell me what type business this was except that it was a telemarketing number.
I then spent at least two hours on the internet attempting to reverse look up the business by the phone number with no success. Then today attempting to search businesses in Conneticut, searching various business types, again without success. No results with web searches either.
The only success in finding the business name were the "rip off" and "fraud claims" websites against the company.
I will be contacting my credit card dispute department tomorrow concerning this charge.
This situation is strange because I was not home on the date of the charge due to an automobile accident my son was involved along with the fact my home phone was out of order due to bad weather in our area.

This is the email I have just sent to Classmates ...
When I joined Classmates, I read all of the terms to include the Member Rewards and Special Offers which was agreed upon. This month I had two charges on my credit card, one from Homeworksplus for 9.95, the other from Simpleescapes for 9.95. After ALOT of investigating and telephone calls, Mediaworks the parent company of the above mentioned, stated that they got my credit card number from Classmates !!! How dare you give out my information as this. I was so excited to join Classmates and reunite with old friends, but now I know it was a mistake. I will not longer tell any of my friends of your site, nor visit your site. Agreeing to receive special offers and you giving out my credit card number is two completely different situations. I am very upset over this and sincerely hope that you will not give my information to anyone else.
