AP9*SHOPPINGESSENTIAL CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD ,ALSO THROUGH AP*9 TODAY'S ESCAPES, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE NORWALK, CONNECTICUT Internet

This company is a branch of "Adaptive Marketing LLC"... They got my credit card number and charged me $9.95 on 1/18/07 under the name "AP9*SHOPPINGESSENTIALS", and $9.95 on 1/18/07 under the name "AP9*TODAYSESCAPES". I promptly called the telephone numbers that showed up on my credit card statements ( 800-798-0664 & 888-999-0564 .... interestingly enough, these are 2 separate charges, by 2 separate companies, but the automated answering system has the same voice and numerical choices!)

I cancelled both "subscriptions" through their automated system, yet ended up being charged again! I called them again today, and got a live representative. She explained that both companies are "divisions" of the same parent company ( Adaptive Marketing LLC)

Well I had her check the accounts ( they have my credit card number AND address ) and she showed that the account cancellations went through TODAY, when I did it through the automated system, AGAIN..... BUT, they had charged me $19.95 for each company this past week ( a total of $39.90 this month!)... So, she processed a "credit" for the 2 charges and said it will be 2-4 days for the credit to post to my credit card... We'll see what happens!!!

I am going to have to cancel the credit card if the refunds don't post by next week! What a pain!!!

PS I was able to locate a website for the TODAYSESCAPES company, and still can't figure out what they do!I think its a discount travel scam! http://www.todaysescapes-program.com/TodaysEscapes_ResourceCenter.html
