APS (Arizona Power Service) No disregard for customer safety. APS is driven by money, the fact that they're the only provider of commercial power in specific areas of Arizona gives them the upper hand such as any monopoly. Show Low, Arizona

December 7th. 2009 through out the day Show Low and most of Northern Arizona was hit by a good size snow storm that took out commercial power in multiple areas. With no surprise I came home from work to a house with no power. I immediately called their 800 number to start a trouble ticket to have a line man restore power at my residence. Knowing that my power runs the well pump for water supply to 3 of my neighbors and the fact that my water pipes can freeze and crack over night made this a more critical situation for me. Everyone I talked to was very nice and helpful, the technician even called me directly to ask me a few questions.

I then took off to get access to the internet at my parents house, a couple hours later I got a text from my neighbor saying his power was up when he got home. I came home to find my power was still down, the technician had called again to let me know he's trying to make it to my house sometime in the morning.

The next day I still had no power and the temprature was down to the low 20's so I called again to check on the status while I was at work. I talked to an APS rep who said that my power was in fact shut off because I failed to pay a deposit of $80.00 because a couple bills were paid late. Of course I was not aware of this and reminded him I had just payed my bill a couple weeks ago and then asked him why I was never notified. He said a letter was sent out and they tried to call but I never received such a notice. He told me that I need to pay the $80.00 and the next day my power will be turned on.

I paid the deposit and while at work the next day my land lord checked to see if the power was on while I was at work. He noticed the power was still out and all my neighbors still had no water so he called APS, all they could tell him is that they need to talk to me and that they had no record of me ever calling. I talked to a rep and he said they never received my payment. Later he said they got my payment but the soonest they can turn on power is sometime tomorrow unless I were to pay a $75.00 fee to have someone come out today. I had no choice but to pay the fee with the extreme weather conditions and neighbors going without water. I explained my situation and asked if they could at least wave the fee, I was immediately turned down. I thought he would maybe talk to his boss for a couple seconds before saying no.

My power was restored December 9th between 4pm and 6pm. One of the many things I find disturbing about this whole situation is that the late payments were because my bill's were being sent to an incorrect address. APS has this incorrect address situation on file from when I frist started my service at this house, yet they feel the need to shut down my power during a big snow storm. So many people are still trying to get power to their home because of this big snow storm and I'm needing power to my house because it was intentionally turned off because my first two payments were a few days late.

I really wish APS:  Notified me (this means making contact with the customer), Did not decide to pick the worse day of the year to shut off power to my house, and last but not least I wish they would have known exactly why my power was down since they're the ones who shut it off.
