Beware, everything that goes wrong will be YOUR fault! After reading other posts here I realize this company is out of control.
After buying the service, the salesman said I was to talk to a rep about my experience. He told me what answers to parrot back to her. Then it took 3 phone calls and 6-7 hours for the equipment install. Again, the installers told me what answers to give the rep. Unethical.
Harrassing collection calls over and over and over! Due to COMPANY error I was not billed for the first 3 months. I was called by Mario and told my bank routing number had been input incorrectly by APX and I owe $234.97 (Installation fee and 3 months service). Not able to pay all at once, the collection calls have escalated in frequency to the point it is 1-2 times a day. I might as well be speaking Chinese when I explain I didn't cause the problem. I was told it didn't matter why my account was behind, the calls will continue.
Once again I called the billing department. The rep was rude in so many ways. He got emotional, angry at me! He talked over me, cut off my sentences, raised his voice, aruged with me; I had to yell to be able to talk. ~ I asked if he knew Mario, he said yes. When I told him of Mario's call this rep made snorting noises and told me there was no record of that conversation, my routing number was right, that Mario didn't tell me this. I said if this is true then why didn't the charge go through on time? He stopped short and stuttered, he couldn't refute my logic. He had the nerve to ask why I didn't call them about it. I told him when I do work I bill the person, I don't expect them to come to me with offers of a payment. Even through this he continued to ask me to pay the balance in full!!
I spoke to a laywer. He told me that there has to be someone in a company authorized to make decisions. Ask for a supervisor until I get to authority. Get a name and a confirmation number for everything agreed upon.

I, too had a security system installed by APEX security system. And yes, the company also sent people throughout the neighborhood. The first time they came we decided to go ahead and have it installed, but they said our credit was not good enough. Then they called back about a month later and said, OK, we can install the system. Well, as stated it is connected to the telephone line and they installed the key pad right next to the phone. It took some getting used to as far as disarming it before you left the house. So everytime it went off, if you didn't get to the keypad fast enought they called but you couldn't understand them because of it being so close to the phone and it caused interferance. Well, we changed banks and decided we didn't want the service anymore so we called them and notified them. They called after about 4 months and said we owed $284 and they would forgive the late charges and give us a break on the delinquent amount. And during all this we find out that they are not Apex, but SAI now. Needless to say, we have not heard from them for at least 8 months. Not a word. This company is a ripoff from the word go. The keypad is still working with the exception that it is not centrally monitored. But if you activate it and open the door, it still will scream like a banshee! Just avoid the company. They are smooth talkers, but the goofball installers don't know much about where to install the keypads.
