When these people convinced me to purchase this timeshare they told me i could rent it out for atleast a hundred dollars a night for my week and if i kept it over a year the value would go up and i could sell it and make a profit on it. None of this was true. They also told me they would rent it out for me for a small fee. THEY DID NOT DO THIS EITHER. I tried to sell it every way possible over the internet, real estate companies, fliers, billboards, paid all fees that was necessary to sell this property. i informed aqua sun investment of how i was told i could sell this property and they made it sound so easy. i could not give this property away.I told them i had lost my job i could no longer afford to pay the note or the maintance fees would they assist me in selling this property so it would not damage my credit. They said no. This timeshare has ruined my credit. This is the only thing on my credit report that caused my credit score to go from 720 to 520. it has ruined my life. I can't buy insurance, I can't get a decent job all because of this timeshare that has ruined my credit. If they had not lied to me i never would have purchased it in the first place.

I too am stuck with a timeshare from AquaSun and currently owe 10 years in back maintenance fees. Myself and my ex-wife were 20 and 18 at the time they conned us into buying one. They gave us this line about if we wanted to get rid of it they would buy it back, and that we could rent it out each year and more than pay for it. At first we said no, then they kept having different people come up with offers, and finally they had one that had just been turned back in, less than half the price, and if we signed right then we could get it financed, if we left we couldn't get that one or get it financed. We finally decided it was a a win win. After they rented it for us the first year and we got about $50 for renting it we called them and said we wanted to sell it. They told us they didn't help in selling them. We were stuck with it because noone wanted to buy it. That was in 2002. Now in 2012 it is on my credit report, has been since 2011 for back maintenance fees since we supposedly still own it, even though we haven't made a payment on the time share since 2002. As of right now it is supposed to stay on my credit report until 2018, that is 16 years. I have disputed this with TransUnion and they keep saying they verified it and it will not be removed. The Maverick, where the timeshare is, say the timeshare is still in my name, so I owe the maintenance fees. In 10 years they never foreclosed on it, they let someone keep a timeshare with no payments? This sounds like a big con game to me and they seem to have won.

Georgian Inn Beach Club

This place is a complete ripoff. I have never set foot on the property and suddenly this month T start getting harrassed by a collection agency for close to $7,000. I just received the first notice in June and this goes back to 2003. I am disabled and there is no way I can pay all these years of fees that they are asking for. They did send a copy of a deed with my name on it from 2003. I also found on the internet where they let some "owners" sign their deed back over without paying back fees. It was in an annual report posted on the internet. I am just now hearing about having a deed for this. They are attempting to file a judgement against me. I feel it very unfair to just get a collection threat after 7 years and also the discrimination of them letting some owners just sign their deed back over. Anyone can have mine!

almost talked into making the same mistake

AUTHOR: TOM - (U.S.A.)

My wife and I were almost talked into making the same mistake you did. We almost bought a timeshare in Destin, Florida. They put us up in a motel on the beach for two nights, and told us we would only have to go for an informative presentation and tour of the building.

We heard the same garbage that you were given
Well this presentation turned out to be a 4 hour grilling by numerous people, all with a better deal than the last, to pressure us into buying a timeshare.

When we finally convinced them that we were not going to buy, they let us go in a less than friendly manner.

We received mail from them for probably a month after that, along with several phone calls asking us to reconsider.

Everyone reading this please PAY ATTENTION : STAY AWAY FROM TIMESHARES!!
