I am a tiny business owner, and full-time college student. My ISP is AOL. I was going to start a Website to sell items to help me through college. I have no credit history, so I found Paypal, and their "Virtual Credit Card". This went well. I never had large balances to worry about. But my schooling required many more things as time goes on, and I needed to buy a lot of items on-line. To do so of course, a credit card is needed. I found the Paypal thing to work great at first. But then I added Netscape 6.2 as my default browser. I contacted a hosting company in North Carolina, and asked them about a "starter site", and gave them my virtual credit card number. The next day I realized I was not going to need their services; and faxed thenm their required form for termination of services. The total for one month service was $7.97. The main dude of the company said no problem, just when I fax the form back, include I want my money credited BACK to my Paypal account. Okay? Next thing I know, there are several dozen "unidentified companies" from North Carolina requesting monies for payment from my Paypal account. I spent over 100 hours trying to find a living person associated with Paypal to tell them these requests were not only unauthorized, but also simple requests of theft. To no avail. All I got was automated responses saying they understand how serious such allegations are, and that Paypal is impervious, at insurance worth way more than I need to worry about (my interpretation of it). Next thing you know, there were many multiple payments to "unknowns" by Paypal from my account in spurts of $1.97, $7.97, $9.97 until I was cleaned out.!!! To this date, I still have not found a living soul associated with Paypal to file a complaint. I talked to a cop, and he just laughed, and said, "arent you insured"? I pray to god the next f***ing terrorist airplane flies right into the only living entity associated with Paypal! There has to be someone alive with a scam company like that. How in the world does one file a report when no living person exists with a company like Paypal? "Virtual Credit Card"??? Try Virtual Reality to the 1000th power! Paypal is about as synthetic and virtual unreal as one can get. I am poor! Just a struggling student. And to let some piece of clump like Paypal just give anybody who askes for it MY MONEY! Really Pisses me OFF!!! I am also an X-Army Ranger, and I know how to hate! I hate Paypal.
