I came 2 minutes late due to traffic. There was no parking. They told me to go home and they wont give me a refund. They teach Classes for the Red Cross. Andy is a very rude person. i would stay far away from this place. Some of the staff are nice. And the facility is very nice. But i would not recommend taking a class here. Also, you can tell that the instructors dont know the material. They are reading from the book the whole class. no eye contact no nothing. find someplace else to go. save youself time and money and go someplace else. Not fond of this place at all.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $450.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
I liked: Nothing.

I signed up for a lifeguard class at the Freeport location. I came the first day and was told that no one else signed up for the class and to go to their class in Manhattan. First of all, i took a day off from work!!! next time tell me ahead of time. Second of all, they lied and said they called me when they didnt. I would never go back to this place. I took my lifeguard class with the Mid Island JCC. I called Red Cross to complain about these guys. Its horrbile. I got an attitute from the guy that i spoke to on the phone. Horrbile.

Hello, we are sorry that you did not have the good experience that most of our students have in our classes. That day we had a logistics issue that caused some minor disruptions in our class schedule which we do apologize for. That rarely happens with us. Your certification also was processed after the class and you are listed on the American Red Cross website. We hold hundreds of classes a year and each one is important to us. On occasion there are unexpected situations however they are the rare exceptions rather than the norm for us. Please feel free to contact us if you wish to come back so we can offer you the class again at no additional charge. Thanks

NOT A HOAX!!

I took a Adult/Pediatric/First Aid/CPR/AED class in New York City on Wednesday June 21, 2017. This is not about the instructor, who I would say was professional and knowledgeable. This is about the management that day. My class was a small class, and on that day, Aquatic Solutions decided to book several classes of different levels around the same time which created massive confusion. My class began with one instructor who was abruptly removed and placed to teach another class. The next instructor was good and the issues aren't related to him. During the course of my class, several people would come in to take yet another CPR prop from our room. We were left with one child dummy, which someone came in and tried to take as well. The mismanagement affects the quality of education. Constant interruptions from people to get equipment for other classes was a rude distraction. I understand this pathological need to make money, but seriously, just because my class was small (4 people), doesn't mean we should be ignored and given poor service. The icing on the cake is that it has been 3 days and I have yet to get my certificate. I'm not even registered on the Red Cross website.
Honestly, I want to give 1 star, but did factor in the instructor, who was professional and had to deal with mismanagement from his company, so I give two stars. The Red Cross should offer classes again. Contracting out sounds good on paper, but in practice, isn't executed properly.
Waste of time and money

Hello, This review is factually incorrect on many levels. If someone is late by 2 minutes we would not deny them access to the class. In addition if a person was denied admittance to a class then how can they report on the instructor if they were not there? We also do not have any classes for $450.00. More importantly we treat every student and potential student with the utmost of respect and consideration for many many years now. We also have an extremely reasonable refund policy in place. Nothing in this report represents our actual behavior and we believe this report is a hoax and possibly from a competitor. If this is from an actual student then please contact us so we can discuss this. Thank you.
