Were fooled into letting the salesperson into our home with the promise of a $50 Visa giftcard (which we never recieved) and before you knew it we were frightened into buying a water system for "the ehalth of our family". We were told we would have to change the filter once a year @ a cost of $19.99 and replenish the salt at the rate of 1 bag a month.
Less than 2 months of this thing being in my house, we ahd to replace the filter, the "injector" and I am replenshing the salt at the rate of 3-4 bags a month. In total we have had to replace the filter 4 times and I simply can't keep up with the salt expense, since it runs about $4 - $5 per bag. $20/ month a top of a finance bill of $110/ month is simply too expensive.
The straw that broke the camels back was when we were in the process of refinancing our home and were told 2 days before our scheduled closing that the finance company that Aquativa placed our contract with had placed a lien or 2nd mortagage on our home. REMIND YOU, WE NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT OR WERE EVEN LATE WITH A PAYMENT. As a matter of afct we were 2 months ahead on the finanace agreement.
When I e-mailed the president of the company, he promptly replied with a "form letter" answer saying that they knew nothing about this, but that they were not responsible and I should contact the finance company about having them move to 2nd lien holder on my refinance. Pretty conveinant for "not knowing about the situation".
I have been round and round with this company and continue to get the run around that my fight is with the finance company and not them. I tried to talk to them about the service issues and performance of this system and they refuse to acknowledge that anything is wrong, they say my system is performing the way it is designed and completely ignore the fact that their salesman lied to me.
I want a refund and the 2nd mortgage removed from my home. I even suggested that they refund me what is owed on the loan (minus everything that I ahve already paid) and I'll pay the balance of the interest owed.
Be very careful of this company. They lie. They place your home at risk. They refuse to accept responsibilty for their salespeople or their actions and they refuse to make an injustice right.

This is hysterical. Timothy makes it sound like they did so much for me. First of all, they never "offered" to come to home home and inspect the system, they wanted to charge me a service call fee, filter replacem, ent fee and I'm sure by there track record something else. To "offer" to do something means there should not be a charge.Secondly, I love how he makes it sound like I went out and found my own financing for this crap in my house. They offered the financing, even promoting it as "free money" (I think that's what the saleman said) because it had a 90 day interest free pay off period. It absolutely is their responsibility to let their customer know what they are having them sign. I only became aggresive when I was getting no where with these people and kept being told to call the people I financed it with. As far as I am concerned, I finanaced it with them, they never told me that I would be sold off to another company and more importantly that a lien was going to be put on my home. I invited them to put them in touch with their lawyers, as a matter of fact I insisted because maybe I could talk to someone rational, rather than the "President" who only knew how to say it wasn't his fault.Timothy should check the constitution, I have a right to free speech, I can tell anyone I want about my horrible experiance with these people, they are just trying to scare me into not doing that.

Mr. W's Characterization is not fair and is untrue

Mr. W has failed to mention several items:
First, our company has offered to come to his house to inspect the system to see if it is, in fact, not working. Mr. W refused to allow us to do so. He wants us to take his word for it that the product is not working and therefore refund his money.
Second, our company has absolutely NOTHING to do with the financing of the product. As with a product purchased with a credit card or a finance company used when purchasing a major appliance or a car, the financing has nothing to do with the product. The financing is a separate agreement between the consumer and the finance company that the consumer uses to purchase the product. Mr. W chose to use a 3rd party finance company instead of paying by check or with a credit card or with a loan from his own bank. The issues related to finance company have to do with the contract Mr. W signed with the finance company. We did not finance Mr. W's purchase, nor did we put any lien on his home.
Third, Mr. W NEVER received a 'form letter' from the president or anyone else at this company. The president responded promptly to Mr. W and ordered me to look into the matter as well. I spent a great deal of time trying to learn more and help Mr. W -- even contacting the finance company to ask them if there was something they could do with their contract with Mr. W to help him.
During this time, Mr. W sent to both me and the president a series of profanity-laced and threatening emails -- ALL of which I have saved and turned over to our attorneys. I asked Mr. W several times to refrain from the profanity approach, but that did not work. Instead, Mr. W promised that he would work tirelessly to destroy the reputation of our company in any way he could. I assume this posting is his threats in action.
When the profanity-laced and threatening letters continued, we decided to cease our communication with Mr. W and let our attorney deal with the matter. We refuse to expose ourselves or our employees to such abuse.
